The regime’s Health Ministry spokesperson announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers on Thursday as 7040 new cases in the past 24 hours, reporting the high such stats in the past seven weeks. “The number of people hospitalized on a daily basis in some provinces have been increasing and 18 cities across the country are considered orange zones. 124 cities are considered yellow zones,” she added, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency. All the while, head of the Health Ministry’s Information Center wrote, “The number of orange cities have increased from 18 to 36 as the number of yellow cities have increased from 130 to 178,” according to a Thursday piece in the state controlled Aftab News daily.

Masoud Mardani, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force, has hinted on Thursday of a new wave of Covid-19 cases in some parts of Iran. “If we are engulfed with a new peak, there is this possibility that the spread, the number of cases and deaths resulting from coronavirus will increase because it is possible that the virus mutates and becomes stronger, and the spread and contraction rate would be worse than the previous wave,” he explained, according to the state controlled Aria media outlet.

“According to the Mazandran and Babol Medical Sciences universities the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized [in Mazandaran province] has reached 1243 with 249 in ICUs,” according to a Wednesday report wired by the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“We are witnessing an increase in the number of Covid-19 patients being hospitalized. The increasing trend of positive cases, coronavirus patients being hospitalized, and those placed in ICUs has begun. This could be the indication of a new wave across the province,” said the dean of Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

In Khuzestan province the dean of Ahvaz Medical Sciences University said on Thursday that the cities of Ahvaz, Dezful, Abadan, Shoushtar, Karoon, Shadegan, Ramhormoz, Behbahan and Andimeshk are considered yellow zones. “Today we should hear the red alarm bells in order to prevent massive waves in the near future. Any violation of health protocols will have dangerous and irreparable consequences,” the official added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

An article published on Thursday in the state controlled Aftab-e Yazd daily emphasized that nearly all countries similar to Iran others across the region have begun their vaccination efforts. “Then why is our country and the health system in limbo? Sanctions are not a good excuse for this negligence. People have the right to access the vaccine, be it foreign or domestic. A question for our officials: When will the vaccination effort begin? While you receive massive salaries, you must provide services and not just bicker at each other behind your tribunes and provide hollow promises!”
