The regime’s Health Ministry spokesperson announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers on Thursday as 3825 new cases, which is unprecedented in the past eight months. She also added that 211 deaths in the past 24 hours, being the highest daily death toll in around two months. The number of patients in dire conditions was announced at 4121.

Despite the catastrophic Covid-19 crisis across Iran, regime President Hassan Rouhani took part in a meeting of the National Covid-19 Task Force yet provided very little on how to address this catastrophe. He only discussed “adequate punishment for violations in administrative offices, stores and private businesses, and people in public.”

“Refusing to abide by instructions and protocols calls for punishment for violators, especially since in the coming months since Covid-19, the cold virus and the flu will all coincide, we will be facing threats. To control that, it becomes even more necessary to impose punishments for the violators,” Rouhani added.

“Yesterday we experienced the worst Covid-19 day in Tehran. The highest daily death toll since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic was on Tuesday,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Wednesday. “The highest daily death toll in Tehran was on March 18 and we experienced the next peak on March 23. We next witnessed an increase in the number of deaths on July 23 and 25. Unfortunately, however, [Tuesday’s] numbers were the highest death toll among all the previous peaks. In the past 24 hours over 870 new patients have been hospitalized in general sections and 168 patients have been placed in ICUs. In the past 48 hours the number of new patients hospitalized neared the 1000 mark,” he continued.

“Currently, we have over 4300 people hospitalized and most of them are in dire conditions. Nearly 1200 of then are in ICUs,” said Nader Tavakoli, deputy chief of Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday. “There are around 46 children hospitalized today in the Iran Medical Sciences University. We even have newborn babies that have contaminated coronavirus,” he added, according to the regime’s state-run TV.

“The number of Covid-19 deaths in the city of Tabriz have increased significantly and is on the rise,” said the governor of Tabriz on Wednesday. “In late March we had less than ten deaths per day. Currently the daily Covid-19 death toll has increased to more than 30 per day,” he added, according to the state-run Asre Iran daily.

In West Azerbaijan province, head of the local Medical Sciences University’s public relations office said on Wednesday that 19 people had died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours. “The total number of Covid-19 deaths in this province has reached 1064 and the increasing trend is very dangerous,” he added, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“244 of our colleagues in schools and 232 students have contracted Covid-19. Twenty-one of our colleagues and five students have died of Covid-19,” said the director of Razavi Khorasan Province Education Department on Wednesday. “There may be a large number of people who have contracted the virus and we are not informed about it,” he added, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The total death toll has reached 991 [in Fars province],” said the head of public relations in the Fars Medical Sciences University on Thursday. “Currently we have 809 patients hospitalized, of which 92 are in ICUs,” he added, according to the Javan daily, an outlet affiliated to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).
