Iran coronavirus update: Over 478,800 deaths, at least eight cities in critical conditions

Over 478,800 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Saturday afternoon local time, November 20. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 128,852, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 112,265 in Tehran, 39,070 in Razavi KHroasan, 32,765 in Isfahan, 17,868 in West Azerbaijan, 17,760 in Fars, 16,660 in Gilan, 14,073 in Alborz, 13,315 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 12,817 in Kerman, 8899 in Kermanshah, 8738 in Markazi (Central), 6083 in North Khorasan, 6015 in Ardabil, and 5484 in Qazvin. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Saturday as 118 deaths and 3539 new cases. Furthermore, 3416 patients are in ICUs and 616 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“If adequate coverage and vaccination is not achieved, there is no doubt that we will most definitely witness a sixth peak. At a time when a new rise of the virus is formed in massive waves or semi-waves, no country is immune from this pandemic,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Eight cities are in critical conditions, including Oshnaviyeh, Piranshahr (West Azerbaijan province), Tabas, Ferdows (South Khorasan), Zabol (Sistan & Baluchistan), Zarand, Shahr-e Babak (Kerman province), and Khatam (Yazd province),” according to a report wired on Saturday by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

Dean of the Kerman Medical Sciences University said on Saturday that a new rising trend of coronavirus is forming, and it has been three weeks that each day an average of 650 patients are hospitalized across the province, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 125 patients have been hospitalized. The total number of people hospitalized stands at 816, of which 204 are in ICUs and 40 are under ventilators,” according to a statement released by the West Azerbaijan Province Covid-19 Task Force on Saturday.

“There are currently 911 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 184 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 15 patients have lost their lives,” according to a joint statement released by the Isfahan and Kashan Medical Sciences universities on Saturday.

“During the past 24 hours 145 coronavirus patients were hospitalized. There are currently 1353 patients hospitalized, of which 177 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Saturday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University in Fars province.
