Evin political prisoners defy Iran’s regime to support Simay Azadi telethon

Defying immense risks and the regime’s brutal repression, political prisoners inside Iran’s notorious Evin Prison have sent a message of solidarity to the 30th national telethon of Simay-e Azadi (Iran National TV), the television network of the Iranian Resistance.

The ability of these political prisoners, who supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), to send a message from behind the cold and heavy walls of Evin demonstrates that the regime’s crackdowns have failed to break the spirit of the Iranian people. This bold act of defiance proves that Simay-e Azadi is much more than a television network; it is the definitive, unyielding voice of a nation that refuses to surrender to tyranny.

The 30th national telethon for Simay-e Azadi has drawn massive support, transforming into a manifestation of the solid bond between the justice-seeking movement, the nationwide campaign against religious and monarchical dictatorship, and the crushing operations of the Resistance Units.

The fact that the Iranian Resistance’s television network is funded entirely by grassroots donations guarantees the movement’s absolute political independence. Every rial, dollar, or euro donated is a direct strike against the regime and toward a free and democratic republic that rejects all forms of dictatorship, including the mullahs’ theocracy and the shah’s tyrannical rule.

In a letter dated August 9, 2026, PMOI supporters in Evin note that they are trapped in the prison of ” Khamenei the second,” referring to the newly installed hereditary dictator. They expressed their regret at being physically unable to send financial assistance to the network.

However, the prisoners’ recognition of the Resistance’s 62-year history of fighting two bloodthirsty regimes without ever relying on outside powers validates the PMOI/MEK as the only independent opposition and the true alternative driving the overthrow of the hereditary dictatorship.

Even without financial means, the prisoners provide profound moral momentum to the Resistance by pledging to turn every cell and block into a stronghold of the movement, taking up the blood-stained flag of the Resistance. They prove that the struggle for freedom cannot be contained by barbed wire or high walls, standing resolute to their last breath.

In the name of God and in the name of the martyrs of the path to freedom.

A message from a group of imprisoned supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) from behind the cold and heavy walls of the dreaded Evin Prison to the heroic people of Iran and the supporters of Ashraf outside of Iran.

Greetings from the tight and guarded confines of this prison to the vast ocean and roaring waves of the Resistance’s supporters, and to all the freedom-loving and justice-seeking people of our homeland.

We express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the material and spiritual support of you dear ones, which has never been withheld. It is by relying on these invaluable contributions that, for nearly 62 years, in its path of struggle and the overthrow of two bloodthirsty regimes, this Resistance has never walked the path of dependence. It is the independent opposition and the main alternative driving the overthrow of the hereditary Velayat regime, a movement that has never extended a hand for help to anyone but its own people.

We are here in the shackles of the executioners of Zahak bin Zahak, Khamenei the second, and it is neither possible nor feasible for us to provide financial aid or send funds to Simay-e Azadi, the Resistance, and the struggle that reflects the battles and the suffering of our beloved people.

Therefore, we pledge to take up the blood-stained flag of the Resistance—which is the product of the pain, suffering, and sacrifice of our dearest ones, from the founding martyrs to Vahid and Yeganeh, Behrouz, Mehdi Hassani, Mehdi Khanaki, and thousands upon thousands more. Even though this flag is immensely heavy and demanding, we take it up with immense pride and honor. To our last breath, we will shout the message of this red flag at every moment and in every place, in every block and every cell, in our minds, our hearts, and our throats. We will never be caught off guard by the regime, we will not retreat, and we will remain steadfast and resolute to the very end.

From behind these high walls and barbed wires, addressing Massoud and Maryam Rajavi, and all the supporters of the Resistance, the freemen and women, and especially the martyrs who are watching over every single one of us, we say: ready, ready, ready!
