At least nine protests reported in numerous cities of Iran

Iran, March 6, 2019 – As teachers successfully held a three-day nationwide strike and plan to stage a demonstration on Thursday, people from all walks of life in different cities took to the streets on Wednesday in various gatherings protesting the regime’s unjust policies.

Hundreds of steel mill retirees in Isfahan, central Iran, held a rally and marched through the city towards the Isfahan Province governor’s office, protesting low pensions and officials’ refusal to respond to their demands.

This demonstration was held as authorities had dispatched anti-riot units and special vehicles in response.

In Karaj, west of Tehran, the country’s capital, personnel of the Khomeini Hospital held a gathering protesting delayed paychecks. They were heard chanting, “Governor Shahbazi, get off your chair and start thinking about us.”

Employees of the Azerbaijan Rail Company in the city of Marand, northwest Iran, went on strike, protesting the delay of their paychecks during the last few months.

In Ajabsheer, also in northwest Iran, employees of the Azerbaijan Rail Company were on strike, protesting delayed paychecks and demanding answers from company officials.

In Bandar Abbas, a major port city in southern Iran, employees of the local rail company also went on strike, protesting paychecks being delayed for the past few months. These protesting rail workers have pledged to continue their strike until their paychecks are fully provided.

A group of farmers from the city of Shadegan, southwest Iran, held a gathering protesting the intervention of a number of state institutions, including the village trade entity, in the election of the city’s Farmers Guild Association. This rally was held in Ahvaz, outside the Khuzestan Province governor’s office.

Employees of the Saham-e Edalat credit firm, a state-run entity, rallied for the fourth day outside the regime’s Ministry of Economy and Assets, protesting delayed paychecks.
