Iran, Jan. 9, 2019 - On Tuesday, a group of customers of Saipa, a state-owned Iranian vehicle manufacturer, gathered in Tehran’s car exhibition hall and sat down in protest. The protesters were demanding Saipa to stay true to its commitments regarding the presale of its vehicles.

Kerman: Demonstrations in front of the governor’s office

On Tuesday, the people of Kerman gathered in front of the governor’s office to protest against the building of dams on Halil River their province. The building of dams on Halil by the government has disrupted the province’s ecosystem. Recently, Yahya Kamalipour, an MP in the Iranian regime’s parliament, told the state-run Mehr News Agency that the building of dams on Halil River has destroyed the soil and land in the south of Kerman and is one of the main causes of dust storms in that region.

Dezful: Demonstration by workers of green areas

In Dezful, municipality employees working in the city’s green areas stopped working and demonstrated in the city’s Rudband Square in protest to four months’ worth of unpaid wages. The workers are also protesting to the changing of their work status, which has deprived them of salary bonuses.

The workers have been working on holidays with promises of bonus payments, but they have yet to receive their minimum wages.

Qeshm: Workers of various petro companies hold demonstrations

The workers of several large factories in Qeshm, an island south of Iran, held demonstrations in protest to wages unpaid for four months. The companies, all active in the oil industry, including PetroPay, Petrosazan and Rahgozaran Construction.
