Iran, April 14, 2021—On Wednesday, retirees and pensioners of the Social Security Organization in Iran took to the streets again and held protest rallies across Iran. In Tehran, the demonstrations took place in front of the headquarters of the Social Security Organization. In other cities, the protesters gathered in front of the local offices of the Social Security Organization.
Protests took place in more than a dozen cities, including Tehran, Karaj, Khorram Abad, Ilam, Behshahr, Tabriz, Noshahr, Zanjan, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Yazd, Isfahan, Kerman, Neyshabur, Qazvin, Arak, Kermanshah, Bojnurd, Rasht, Shushtar, Mashhad, and Shush.

While reiterating their economic demands, the pensioners also stressed that they will be boycotting the regime’s presidential elections because the past decades have proven that no matter who becomes the regime’s president, the situation for the Iranian people will only become worse.
Protesting the regime’s corrupt economic policies, resulting in nothing but devastating poverty and deprivation for tens of millions across Iran, the protesters chanted:
- We will not vote anymore. We’ve heard too many lies
- We want pensions adjusted for inflation rates
- We will only restore our rights by coming to the streets
- We will die but we will not back down from our rights
- Incompetent minister, resign!
- The economy is in ruins
- Our enemy is here, they are lying that it’s the U.S
- Officials get astronomical salaries, the general public lives in misery

Meanwhile, social tensions continue to escalate across Iran with reports of daily protests being held by people from all walks of life.
Contract workers of the transportation unit in the South Zagros Oil and Gas Exploitation Company located in the Parsian Aghar and Dalan operational areas held a rally on Monday, April 12.
These workers were protesting of their removal from the Sapna system.
The SAPNA system is the information system for manpower contractors throughout the oil industry and removing workers from this system will deprive them of requirements such as job classification and other legal and customary benefits enjoyed by other formal, contract and other personnel.

Locals of Sistan and Baluchistan province in southeast Iran close the Iran-Pakistan border – Apil 12, 2021
On Monday, April 12, many locals in the city of Torbat in Sistan & Baluchistan province of southeast Iran protested the blockade of the border by Iranian and Pakistani military forces.
With the closure of the Baluchistan border, hundreds of fuel traders in Sistan & Baluchistan buffer zone have been left without food and water. Informed sources are reporting that at least four fuel traders have died due to thirst and hunger.
According to reports, lack of drinking water, food and shelter has created a deeply concerning situation for the fuel traders, and the continued blockade of the border could lead to a painful catastrophe for the Baluch fuel traders.
It is said that Baluch fuel traders on both sides of the border have been without food and water for weeks now due to its closure, and the Pakistani army and the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) have not allowed them to cross the border.
"The closure of the borders and denial fuel traders access to basic necessities has resulted in the death of a number of them at the border, and their bodies have been returned to their families,” one local said.
