Iran coronavirus update: Over 471,400 deaths, 6th peak has started faster than estimates

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, November 6, 2021—Over 471,400 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Saturday afternoon local time, November 6. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 127,173, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 110,555 in Tehran, 38,530 in Razavi Khorasan, 32,155 in Isfahan, 28,825 in Khuzestan, 17,538 in West Azerbaijan, 17,340 in Fars, 17,270 in Mazandaran, 16,430 in Gilan, 13,164 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 12,830 in Qom, 10,375 in Golestan, 7880 in Hormozgan, 5870 in Ardabil, and 5369 in Qazvin. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Saturday as 120 deaths and 6803 new cases. Furthermore, 3713 patients are in ICUs and 985 of the new cases have been hospitalized. “33 cities are registered as red zones, 95 are orange, 220 are yellow, and 100 are blue,” according to the Health Ministry statement.

“During the past 24 hours 708 new coronavirus cases have been registered. Five cities are red zones in [West Azerbaijan] province, including Sardasht, Piranshahr, Poldasht, Chaypareh, and Oshnavieh. The cities of Salmas and Chaldoran are yellow zones, while the remaining cities of the province are orange zones. We currently have 1012 coronavirus patients hospitalized,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The number of people per day seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms is increasing and has risen by 20 percent, currently being between 1500 to 1800 per day,” according to a statement released on Saturday by the Mashhad Medical Sciences University regarding Razavi Khorasan province.

“Without a doubt we are heading towards the sixth peak. The number of cities registered as red zones increased from 29 to 33 this week. This has sounded the alarm bell of the sixth peak and this illness will skyrocket with the slightest neglect,” said the dean of Arak Medical Sciences University on Saturday regarding Markazi (Central) province, according to the state-run IKNA news agency.

“With 186 new patients hospitalized, the total number currently stands in 1721, of which 184 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Saturday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“The new peak has started far before any of the estimates. In contrast to what has been claimed that most provinces are reporting a decreasing number of people being hospitalized, the increasing number of cities being registered as red zones is concerning. Thirty-three cities have been upgraded to red zones, and the number of red cities is increasing at a fast rate. It is not the proper time to re-open schools. The status quo in the cities of Tehran, Karaj, Tabriz, and Zanjan is fragile and on the verge of being registered as orange zones,” according to a piece published on Saturday in the state-run Arman daily.
