Iran coronavirus update: Over 463,400 deaths, domestic vaccines described as mirage

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, October 24, 2021—Over 463,400 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Sunday afternoon local time, October 24. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 125,223 around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 108,545 in Tehran, 37,935 in Razavi Khorasan, 31,510 in Isfahan, 28,430 in Khuzestan, 17,068 in West Azerbaijan, 17,060 in Mazandaran, 16,900 in Fars, 16,170 in Gilan, 13,658 in Alborz, 8499 in Kermanshah, 7432 in Kurdistan, 5908 in North Khorasan, 5800 in Ardabil, 5269 in QQazvin, and 4418 in Ilam. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Sunday as 171 deaths and 9174 new cases. Furthermore, 4294 patients are in ICUs and 1237 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

While regime President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized yesterday on “the necessity for the Health Ministry to strongly support indigenous vaccines,” the regime’s health minister acknowledged today that domestic-made vaccines are nothing but a mirage. To this day only 14 million doses of this vaccine has been produced.

“If we want to be delayed for the indigenous vaccine to provide us with 160 million doses, we will have to wait a long time,” said Health Minister Bahram Einollahi on Saturday. “The domestic vaccine has provided us 14 million doses to this day. Have you noticed! … We can’t lose time and say we’ll wait, for example, this amount of time to receive 160 million doses. When will that be?” he asked, according to state TV.

The remarks made by Raisi’s health minister are a clear acknowledgement that regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is responsible for the murder of tens of thousands of Iranians who lost their lives as he banned the import of coronavirus vaccines.

“In some areas of the country we have seen around 100 percent increases in the number of people being hospitalized,” said a member of the regime’s Majlis (parliament) Health Commission on Sunday. “When political issues are tied to other matters, it makes circumstances a bit difficult. Unfortunately, behind technical matters, there are political issues raised and several people enter such talks and do not allow the professional work to continue,” he added, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“We currently have 273 coronavirus patients in ICUs, which is still is a high number, and 49 are under ventilators and in dire conditions,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“There is a strong warning about the start of the sixth wave that can be upon us quite soon. Only 32 percent of the people have received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine, and until we have vaccination reach 70 percent, we will not consider the status quo as adequate. Furthermore, vaccination in Kurdistan province is six percent below the national average,” said the dean of Kurdistan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Last week the two cities of Amolesh and Rezvanshahr were considered blue zones. However, based on the new coronavirus stats, all cities across Gilan province are now in yellow conditions,” said the spokesperson of the Gilan Medical Sciences University on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 195 new patients have been hospitalized and 11 lost their lives,” according to a statement released on Sunday by the Kermanshah Medical Sciences University.
