“The people’s main problem is the lack of medicine because 52 percent of the medicine market is controlled by 300 state pharmacies and the remaining 48 percent is controlled by 13,000 private pharmacies. There is no balance here. Nearly 60 percent of the pharmacies are on the brink of bankruptcy. Currently most of the shortages that people here about are related to Covid-19 medication,” said the deputy chair of the Iran Pharmaceuticals Association on Friday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Other than the country’s southeastern regions, all other parts are in poor conditions and the death tolls are very high in many provinces. One of the issues we are suffering from is the fact that coronavirus is still not one of the country’s main priorities. The Health Ministry alone cannot manage the coronavirus epidemic. If the health minister is changed 100 times over, and yet the structure remains the same, the same trend will continue. Reports from Turkey and other neighboring countries indicate a rise in lambda cases. Therefore, the threat is right next to us, and the coming days are extremely concerning,” said the head of Iran’s Epidemiology Committee on Friday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“A significant number of patients need ICUs and are in line. We are facing a major shortage due to the high number of extremely ill patients,” said the head of Tehran’s Khomeini Hospital Complex on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“During the past 24 hours 21 patients have lost their lives to coronavirus. We currently have 966 patients hospitalized, of which 236 are in dire conditions,” state TV reported on Friday citing the Qom Medical Sciences University.

“The numbers of new cases, deaths and those hospitalized have been unprecedented in the past four weeks in comparison to the entire coronavirus pandemic period. The number of victims increased by seven-fold and the number of new cases and those hospitalized tripled. The number of patients in dire conditions is also rising. Hospital beds are running short in [Ilam] province and no one can confront this virus,” according to a Friday reported wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“Each day there 450 to 500 tests conducted in the city of Dezful, of which 55 to 60 percent are positive. The number of new cases, people being hospitalized, and the death count are all rising extremely fast. Conditions are catastrophic. If this trend of new cases continues at this rate and vaccination continues at the current slow rate, conditions will resume deterioration with each passing day,” said the deputy dean of Dezful Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The status is not good at all. Considering the fact that the upcoming two weeks remains unpredictable, conditions will most definitely remain critical. If general vaccination is not realized we will be facing another wave,” said the head of Mashhad Medical Apparatus on Friday, according to the semi-official ILNA news agency.

“The number of patients hospitalized in [Kermanshah] province breaks record each day. 1411 patients are hospitalized, of which 209 are in ICUs,” according to a Friday statement released by the Kermanshah Medical Sciences University.
