“The Covid-19 numbers of those hospitalized is the worst since the beginning of this illness. Up to August 4, it has been 531 days since the beginning of coronavirus epidemic in Iran,” a Health Ministry report adds. “The provinces of Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Ilam, Bushehr, Tehran, Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari, Razavi Khorasan, Sistan & Baluchistan, Fars, Qazvin, Kerman, Golestan, Gilan, Mazandaran, and Hormozgan are witnessing the worst stats since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. We should anticipate over 10,000 deaths as the fifth wave continues. It is urgent and necessary for all red cities to be shutdown to prevent an increase in the number of deaths,” the report continues.

“3951 people are hospitalized in [Fars] province hospitals, of which 337 are in ICUs,” according to a Thursday statement released by Fars Medical Sciences University.

“Today we are witnessing critical conditions regarding the number of deaths in Beheshte Rezvan Cemetery. This cemetery is providing service at rates far beyond its capacity. The city of Mashhad is nearing a three-digit daily death toll for Covid-19. There are concerns these numbers may rise and cause a catastrophe,” said a senior municipality official in Mashhad on Thursday.

“1444 coronavirus patients are hospitalized, of which 432 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Mashhad Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Temporary hospitalization facilities are being launched in various cities. With an increasing number of patients contracting the delta variant, oxygen consumption has increased five-fold and oxygen-machines are working at three times their capacity,” said the dean of Mazandaran Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The number of people hospitalized for coronavirus in the city of Babol is far higher than the previous waves. More than 1000 people are hospitalized in Babol. The medical staff are under extreme pressure and if this trend continues our medical apparatus will be severely disrupted,” said the deputy dean of Babol Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Coronavirus patients seeking medical care have increased by 250 to 300 percent. Beds in our hospitals are being filled and there is a shortage in nurses,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Currently we have 2774 people hospitalized, of which 379 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours we have lost 28 patients to Covid-19,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“The capacity to accept patients in the hospitals of Yasuj and even their hallways have reached their limits. If this trend continues, we will start using field hospitals,” said the mayor of Boyer Ahmad on Thursday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“The number of people hospitalized has reached around 2000, of which 204 are in ICUs and 79 are under ventilators,” said the dean of Golestan Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“Our blood banks are running extremely low considering the Covid-19 crisis in [Sistan & Baluchistan] province, and the increasing number of deaths and new cases,” said a senior health official in Sistan & Baluchistan province on Thursday, according to the Mehr news agency.
