While the head of the Health Center in west Ahvaz on Saturday reported 3300 positive test cases from the 6,000 test per day in this city alone, the regime’s Health Ministry ridiculously lied in reporting Friday’s daily cases at 8200 across the country.

Regime President Hassan Rouhani once again acknowledged today that the country has entered the fourth wave while attempting to cloak the regime’s hesitance and delays in purchasing the Covid-19 vaccine. Rouhani literally attempted to downplay the importance of the vaccine in preventing a coronavirus catastrophe.

“It is not possible to produce enough vaccine doses for the entire global population. There is no justice in our world and countries with financial difficulties are falling behind. There is also a limitation in injecting the vaccine. It is not clear how long this vaccine is effective in providing immunity. It may be three months, six months, or a year,” he said on Saturday. “There is also an increasing concern over these vaccines seen across the globe. One group attacks a vaccine each day. Therefore, we cannot say we have surpassed this crisis since a vaccine has been produced,” Rouhani added.

“Turkey will be vaccinating its entire population in the next three or four months. We will then witness our rich elite going to that country to get the vaccine,” according to a Saturday piece published in the state-run Arman daily. “However, our Health Minister has no timetable for a general vaccination. The vaccine budget has not been included in the country’s budget. How long are we to ask the people to remain in their homes and not go to work? Workers with daily jobs, if they do not go to work for one day, they have no income. The Health Minister and members of the National Covid-19 Task Force must present a timetable to vaccinate the entire country. Instead, it appears they have preparing instructions on how to bury people in their schedules,” the piece adds.

“We have reports from nearly all provinces indicating the UK strain is circulating across the country. Travel is the main medium in the virus’ expansion. We in the Health Ministry are definitely against any type of travelling,” said Health Minister Saied Namaki on Saturday, according to state TV.

“The UK strain is in most of the provinces. The situation in Khuzestan is different and the number of patients remains on an increasing trend. The number of patients hospitalized is high and as a result so is the daily death rate,” said Alierza Raisi, spokesperson of the National Covid-19 Task Force, on Saturday. “There are concerns that the UK strain will replace the previous virus considering its speed in spreading,” he added, according to state TV.

Many people with negative PCR test results entered the country while these documents were sold to them at a price of ten to 15 million rials (maximum of $60), according to a Saturday report wired by the official IRNA news agency citing Masoud Mardani, a senior member of the National Covid-19 Task Force. Many travelers have entered Iran with forged PCR test results, transferring the UK strain of Covid-19 into Khuzestan province, he added.

Head of the Amir al-Momeneen Hospital in Ahvaz reported an increasing number of medical personnel contracting Covid-19 and being forced to leave their work, according to a Saturday report wired by the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The village of Gorji in the central districts of the city of Azna in Lorestan province has been quarantined due to thye high number of Covid-19 cases and to prevent an uncontrollable epidemic,” said the local mayor on Saturday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

Deputy dean of Mashhad Medical Sciences University on Saturday reported 14 cases of the mutated UK strain and only two of these individuals had travelled outside of Razavi Khorasan province. This indicates the UK strain is spreading, according to a Saturday report wired by IRNA.
