Iran, April 4, 2020—The state-run Fararu website in Iran published a piece on Friday, April 3, acknowledging the high number of coronavirus deaths and cases among senior regime officials, various figures and members of the Majlis (parliament). The website also provided a list of names, including Majlis speaker Ali Larijani as the most significant regime figure to have tested positive for COVID-19.
A medical team stationed at the Majlis since February to conduct tests on various MPs. Results indicated that 23 Majlis members were infected with the virus. Most recently, Assadollah Abbasi, spokesperson for the Majlis presidium, said among the 100 Majlis members tested 23 have shown to be infected and 40 others have suspicious symptoms.

It is worth noting that this is only a tip of the iceberg regarding the actual number of regime officials killed by coronavirus. When so many regime officials are infected and/or killed despite their exclusive access to the country’s medical resources and assets, rest assured millions of Iranians across the country are at grave risk and God knows how many are unfortunately infected and killed.
