How the Iranian opposition rally in Warsaw stands out

Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Feb. 15, 2019 – The Warsaw conference was first mentioned on January 11 by the United States and Poland, quickly evolving into a major regional and international challenge for the mullahs’ regime in Iran.

Walid Phares, former foreign affairs advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, said this is the first conference of its kind that targets the Iranian regime and all jihadists in the region, making its success all the more important.

The significance of this event can be described as a platform elevating anti-Tehran dossiers to an international level. This is a nightmare for the mullahs, whom in nature are completely against peace, stability, independence and human rights.

The past 40 years have proven if protecting these four elements becomes a matter of policy for a united front against the mullahs’ regime, the entirety of this regime in Iran will be in grave danger.

The media has published a variety of articles and news reports emphasizing the importance of this event. The February 13 and 14 rallies held by the Iranian opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), and this coalition’s cornerstone member, People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), further proved their place in the canvas defining the future of Iran.

1) A conference with more than 60 countries gathering in Poland to discuss terrorism, extremism, missile development and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, threats of proxy groups across the region, and also security of maritime trade, all have a long history in the diplomacy pursued by the Iranian Resistance. The NCRI and PMOI/MEK have for decades called on the international community and regional countries to adopt a strong position against the mullahs’ conglomerate of malign activities.

2) The Iranian people’s crisis of poor living conditions are the result of the mullahs’ foreign meddling and warmongering in the region, and across the globe.

3) The participation of nearly one third of the world’s countries in this conference is an important factor in regional and global policies. The continuous revelations and campaigns launched by the Iranian Resistance has been able to voice the Iranian people’s demands to the world.

4) Only an organized resistance movement is able to take full benefit of a change in U.S. policy in the Middle East, and specifically vis-à-vis the Iranian regime, to pursue the true interests of the Iranian people.

5) The Iranian regime considers the Warsaw conference a very important turning point.

Mehdi Mohammadi, known as an analyst close to the circle of Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, wrote the following: In the next two or three months, more light will be shed on the links between the Arab NATO, the ‘Deal of the Century’ and ‘protests across Iran,’ all along with a ‘regional JCPOA’ and the next Majlis (parliament) elections.”

6) There is no doubt that the Warsaw conference focused mainly on the Iranian regime. It is worth noting that the continuation of this focus, that has opened new corridors against the mullahs in Tehran, will further emphasize the central role of the Iranian Resistance for the international community. This is especially so due to the Resistance’s history of struggling for freedom and democracy in Iran.

7) The rally held by Iranian supporters of the NCRI and PMOI/MEK in Warsaw, coinciding with the international conference, along with the participation of a large number of international and local media reporters, sent an important message to the mullahs regime about the movement leading the initiative to topple their rule.

8) All nations experience major turning points in their struggle for freedom. We are now witnessing the Iranian Resistance, after organizing the Warsaw rally, display its weight and undeniable role to the eyes of the world.

9) Voicing the will of the Iranian people who seek freedom during major international developments, such as the Warsaw conference, demands an organized structure and a historical foundation in the struggle to actually realize freedom. The Iranian opposition rally in Warsaw very vividly displays how such an organization is very much alive and active in its pursuit of the Iranian people’s interests against the religious fascism ruling Iran.

10) The Warsaw conference could not have lacked the impact of Iran’s ongoing protests and uprising in the past year alone. The Iranian people, especially the youth and women, are in every protest rally emphasizing on their opposition to the corrupt mullahs’ establishment.

In an interview with Al Arabiya TV on January 12, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the Warsaw conference will show there is a strong will to bring down terrorist regimes in the region.

The timely rally held by PMOI/MEK supporters in Warsaw, gaining Polish authorities’ agreement for this initiative, indicates the advances made by the Iranian opposition in the current global balance of power. This further indicates the answer to the Iran dossier is solidarity with the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising, Resistance Units associated directly to the PMOI/MEK inside the country, and the organized opposition coalition represented by the NCRI.
