Syria, May 17, 2019 – The Orient News Network reported that 20 militiamen loyal to the Assad regime in Syria were killed during an incursion by their force in an area northwest of Hama.
“Syrian rebel fighters destroyed a tank belonging to the Assad militiamen near al-Hamra village in al-Hamoy area.
The rebel forces also captured a number of heavy military machineries from Assad’s forces during this attack.
Three Assad militiamen killed in clashes with the FSA
In other news, three more members of Assad’s militia groups were killed on Wednesday during an attack in the city of al-Sanamayn near the Daraa countryside, Orient news network cited local sources as saying. This area is located in southwest Syria.
The Assad regime’s media outlets reported these three militiamen were part of the "Assad Criminal Security Branch in the city".
The three militiamen were killed while attempting to detain a number of former Free Syrian Army (FSA) members in the city of al-Sanamayn, according to the sources.
The Assad regime took control of Daraa and its countryside after reaching "reconciliation" deals with locals and international mediators last summer.
