In a July 21 meeting with members of the regime’s Majlis (parliament), Iranian regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei described warmongering in the region as the regime’s priority and “still the number one issue in the Islamic world” and said: “What I mentioned about foreign issues and the activities of the diplomatic field to the parliament, one of its examples is the issue of Gaza. Do not stay calm, do not remain silent, work is important. Now, although after months, that initial enthusiasm is not present in many people, the truth is that the same importance of the first days still exists today, if not more. The power of resistance is showing itself more day by day.”
At the same time, the Middle East is witnessing an expanding regional war with the Houthi drone attack on Tel Aviv, Israel’s airstrike on Al Hudaydah, and subsequent Houthi missile attacks in the Red Sea. Attention is turning to the “head of the snake” of warmongering in Tehran.
The regime’s Friday sermons were also filled with warmongering rhetoric following the Houthi attack. For instance, in Ardabil, the Friday prayers leader said: “So far, Ansarullah has attacked the coastal cities of Eilat and Haifa with drones. Now, for the first time, they targeted Tel Aviv itself and detonated a suicide drone a few meters from the US Embassy. This drone passed through all American and European radars, bypassed the Iron Dome, and targeted the center of Israel, right next to the US Embassy.”
Regarding the flare-up of the war in Yemen and the Red Sea, Reuters reported, quoting an Israeli military official, that Israeli F-35 fighters attacked Houthi energy infrastructure and reminded that Iran-backed Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack on Tel Aviv, and Iranian regime proxies congratulated them for it.
The Israeli army issued a statement declaring that in response to the drone attack by Iran-backed Houthis on Tel Aviv, Israeli Air Force fighters conducted extensive operations 1,800 kilometers from Israel against targets in the port of Al Hudaydah. This port served as a gateway for Iranian regime weapons to the terrorist Houthis and was a significant economic source for them.
On the other hand, about the regime’s missile drone attacks on Israel under the title of “True Promise,” Rahim Safavi, Khamenei’s assistant on missile and drone attacks, said: “The Supreme Leader made a decision in this operation that was unprecedented in the 78-year history of Israel’s existence and no leader or country had dared; launching hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel is no joke” (Source: state-run ISNA news agency, July 18).
He continued: “In a month it will be Arbaeen (the 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of the prophet Mohammed), 10 to 20 million people will march to Karbala. If these 20 million people change their route a little and head towards Jerusalem for the liberation of Palestine, who can resist them?”
The remarks of Khamenei’s assistant, coming from a military figure, are extremely foolish and primarily reflect Khamenei and his advisors’ and Friday prayer leaders’ use of external warmongering alongside internal executions and repression to control the regime’s crisis in an explosive society.
Supreme Leader in meeting with members of the regime’s parliament and medical experts, while warning about the danger of internal conflict, emphasizes the priority of warmongering, stating that “the same importance of the first days still exists today, if not more.”
All signs indicate that the people of Iran, along with their Resistance movement and Resistance Units are surely moving toward another revolution. And the regime is running out of maneuvers and time to further delay its inevitable downfall.
