Following the historic Free Iran 2026 summit in Paris, the true momentum of the Iranian opposition is being demonstrated not just on the international stage, but inside Iran’s cities. On June 20, an esteemed gathering of international political figures and supporters convened in Paris. During the summit, Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), emphasized that change must be driven solely by the Iranian people and their organized resistance. Just days later, on June 29, the PMOI/MEK Resistance Units launched a coordinated campaign across Iran to celebrate the summit and express their explicit support for Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan.
The Resistance Units in action
Activists took to public spaces in major cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, and Tabas, to install posters, paint graffiti, and hold up placards with messages of resistance. These actions represent a deeply organized and unified front inside the country. Across multiple cities, Resistance Units utilized a shared rallying cry, installing posters and painting graffiti with the message: “Maryam Rajavi’s commitment is ours as well, victory is ours.” In Tehran, members bravely held up posters bearing the image of Mrs. Rajavi alongside pledges stating, “My commitment is defending the freedom and honor and independence of Iran.”

Echoing the Free Iran 2026 summit
The slogans used by the Resistance Units inside Iran serve as a direct, on-the-ground validation of the political platform presented by the NCRI at the Paris summit. Activists in both Tehran and Isfahan held placards directly quoting Maryam Rajavi’s Paris speech: “My commitment is an unbreakable covenant to secure freedom for all the people of Iran—regardless of their ethnicity, political conviction, beliefs, religion, or creed.”

By echoing these words from inside the country, the Resistance Units are proving Mrs. Rajavi’s summit assertion. As she noted in her speech, the path to freedom is not through negotiations, foreign war, or waiting for the regime to collapse. Instead, “The real force for change is on the ground. It rises from a people who aspire to a free and just society.”
A clear blueprint for the future: The Ten-Point plan
The Resistance Units are not merely protesting the current regime; they are actively advocating for a democratic alternative to replace it. In Tehran, Resistance Unit members held placards highlighting articles from Maryam Rajavi’s Ten-Point Plan for the future of Iran. They explicitly demanded the “Separation of religion and state, and freedom of religions and faiths,” which reflects the fourth point of the plan. They also displayed signs demanding a “Commitment to individual and social freedoms and rights in accordance with the Universal Declaration of Humans Rights,” pointing directly to the plan’s framework for securing justice and eliminating censorship.
Rejecting dictatorship in all forms
The unified message of the Resistance Units makes it clear that the Iranian people will not accept a return to past dictatorships or compromises with the current religious fascism.
Summing up the ultimate goal of the resistance, a Resistance Unit member in Tehran displayed a placard reading: “No to the rule of the mullahs, yes to the sovereignty of the people in a democratic republic with free votes and pluralism.”
This grassroots rejection of both the Shah’s monarchy and the clerical dictatorship shows that the people on the ground are fully aligned with the NCRI’s vision. Supported by sixty-one years of struggle against two dictatorships, this organized resistance aims to establish a democratic, secular, and non-nuclear republic in Iran through free elections.
