Iran’s regime has engaged in a new wave of repressive measures to clamp down on social unrests and prevent the next popular uprising from happening. These measures include an alarming wave of executions as well as increased pressure on political prisoners and families of dissidents.
On August 7 alone, the regime carried out at least 29 executions in one day. On the previous day, the regime executed political prisoner Reza Rasaei. At the same time, the regime is denying political prisoners access to medical services. And the regime’s prison guards in Evin Prison attacked and assaulted female prisoners who were protesting the execution of Rasaei.
However, the regime’s wave of repression has not managed to deter the rebellious spirit of the Iranian people. And this spirit is reflected in the activities of PMOI Resistance Units across Iran. Resistance Units are an organized network of activists who are carrying out anti-regime activities despite the threats from the regime.
In their activities, the Resistance made it clear that executions and repressions are a sign of weakness and fear.
In Tehran, the Resistance Units installed posters in different areas with the messages, “The increase in executions is indicative of Khamenei’s fear of popular uprisings,” “Khamenei the criminal sets another record in crimes with 29 executions,” and “With political executions, Khamenei tries to obstruct popular uprisings.”
However, they also made it clear that they will not be deterred with posters that had the message, “We swear on the blood of our compatriots that we will stand till the end. Khamenei you murderer, we will bring you down.” This is a reflection of the restless spirit of the PMOI Resistance Units, who are fed up with the regime’s repression and are ready for the next uprising.

In Sari, the Resistance Units held similar activities with messages such as Sari “The increase in executions is indicative of Khamenei’s fear of popular uprisings” and “29 executions in one day is Khamenei’s hard revenge against the people of Iran.”
In Karaj, the Resistance Units held similar activities and drove their message with the slogan, “We are not afraid of death and executions and massacres.”
In Shiraz, the Resistance Units also expressed their defiance against the regime by spreading slogans such as “We are stronger than death, executions, and massacres.”
In Rasht, the Resistance Units called for the release of political prisoners.
In Kermanshah and Ahvaz, the activities of Resistance Units conveyed similar messages of resistance against the regime. One of the Resistance Units in Kermanshah held a placard that read, “The message of the blood of the martyrs is to resist till the end.”
And in Sanandaj, the Resistance Units had a strong message: “We will neither forgive nor forget.”
The Resistance Units’ activities are a testament to the enduring spirit of resistance among the Iranian opposition and the regime’s failure to suppress protests and the growing momentum of the organized resistance movement. They are carrying out these activities despite a wave of repressive measures by the regime to prevent any kind of support for the PMOI.
