Iran, Aug. 4, 2019 – A school bus carrying 40 female university students got on fire on the way to the city of Yazd, central Iran. Nine girls were reported to have suffered burns and injuries in this dramatic tragedy that took place some 65 km north of the city.

The bus was traveling south from the northeastern city of Mashhad all the way to Larestan in Fars province, southcentral of Iran. The incident, which according to the reports was due to a fire in the engine, happened on Friday at around 2 pm local time in the Aliabad mountain path.

It is worth noting that due to bad and damaged roads in Iran, many cars or busses catch on fire or have accidents, killing and maiming many passengers and leaving their families mourning for their unfortunate losses. Many students, including elementary and high school children, also get killed or burned to death in these tragic accidents.
