Regime militias launch assault in Homs, Hama

Orient Net, 15 April 2018 — Regime militias escalated assault on Homs and Hama on Sunday (April 15), targeting several opposition-held areas and injuring civilians.

Orient News correspondent said several civilians were wounded as regime aircraft fired more than 30 airstrikes on opposition-held villages in Homs northern countryside and Hama southern countryside, including the al-Hamrat, al-Qunaiterat, Selim, Aidon and other towns and villages.

Regime militias used weapons including bunker-buster missiles and cluster bombs, simultaneous with non-stop artillery shelling, our correspondent reported.

In south Syria’s Daraa, regime militias also targeted the opposition-held Daraa al-Balad neighborhoods with two high-explosive ‘Fil’ missiles.

Military escalation by Assad regime in opposition-held areas in Hama and Homs comes after regime’s deadly assault on eastern Ghouta near Damascus, that killed, injured hundreds and forcibly displaced majority of the remaining population to northern Syria.
