NHK- 13 March 2018- The United Nations Children's Fund says more than 1.5 million people across Syria, including children, are now living with permanent, war-related impairments.
The agency on Monday released its latest report on the conflict-torn country.
It says among those with war-related disabilities, 86,000 people have lost limbs.
UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa Geert Cappelaere says that with no access to schools or wheelchairs, many children with disabilities face the risk of exclusion.
The agency also says about 3.3 million children inside Syria are being exposed to explosive hazards, including landmines and unexploded ordnance.
