Iran, March 11, 2018 - Every year the Iranians celebrate the National fire festival in Iran, a traditional Persian celebration held on the eve of last Wednesday of the Persian calendar year since two thousand years ago. It is the day of joy and happiness to welcome the spring. However, since the mullahs came into power in Iran they have been prohibiting the people from celebrating this old tradition. For years, the fire festival has become an opportunity for the people of Iran to show their hatred and protest to the mullah’s regime and they have turned it to a nightmare for the regime.
Jashne Gol or flower celebration is a wonderful ancient Iranian celebration that reflects the rich cultural heritage of Iran.
This year the Iranians will celebrate this day while last January they staged a major uprising in more than 146 cities throughout the country calling for regime change.
On February 21, the social headquarters of the People’s Mojahedin inside Iran called upon the people especially the youth to turn this occasion into a nationwide uprising. This has frightened the mullahs so that every day, the Iranian regime’s officials desperately try to prevent the people especially the youth from taking part in any activity that would endanger the regime’s existence by threatening to arrest them.

On March 9, Officials of the Mullahs’ regime could not hide their fear of the fire festival in Friday prayers in different cities. In Hamadan’s Friday prayer, Ghiaseddin Taha Mohammadi, warned the youth to “refrain from throwing firecrackers and causing sound of explosion”. Khamenei’s representative in Sanandaj expressed his fear by saying: “Using firecrackers and creating noise is contrary to the Iranian people’s culture, particularly in Kurdistan, such unpleasant acts are far from Iranian families’ dignity.”
Habilian, a websites of Ministry of Intelligence of the Iranian regime, clearly explains why the regime is so much afraid by saying: “PMOI’s recent call regarding the fire fest indicates the start of a new phase. Recent events and protests in Iran are somewhat associated with group sabotage and put the PMOI in a new direction.” (Habilian February 28, 2018)
On January 9, the 13th day of the Iranian people uprising, the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei showed up and inevitably spoke about it: “Evidences show that these issues had been organized, and a triangle was active in organizing it. One of the vertices of this triangle was the United States and the Zionists; the second vertex of the triangle is one of the richest governments in the Persian Gulf; and the third vertex is the Monafeqin Organization [PMOI], and they have been ready since months ago. They were ready since months ago; the media of the Monafeqin confessed it; they announced the call, and made the slogan “No to high prices”. Well, everyone likes this slogan.”
Despite all the suppressive measures by the Iranian regime to stop the uprising, the Iranian people especially the youth, are determined to continue their struggle and are ready to sacrifice till they embrace freedom and democracy in Iran and they are determined to turn this traditional fire festival into a nationwide uprising. With such people ready to pay the price and with an organized opposition that leads the people, the future is bright and the mullahs’ must be fearful of their overthrow in near future.
