Iranian meddling in the region and U.S. senator’s fear on Afghanistan

-

A delegation from the US Senate visiting Afghanistan emphasized the implementation of the security deal between the two countries. Senator John McCain, a senior member of the Senate who leads this delegation, warned Afghan President Hamid Karzai that if efforts to sign the security agreement do not come to a conclusion, Afghanistan and the region are at threat. John McCain said that he doesn’t want what happened in Iraq to happen in Afghanistan. Experts say McCain’s innuendo is a warning about the influence and meddling of the Iranian regime that, after the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, led to political and security crises in this country.
