Key remarks by Antonio Tasso in Free Iran International Conference

On July 13, 2019, dignitaries from dozens of countries across the world attended the main event of the Free Iran 2019 international conference. The conference was part of the five-day Free Iran 2019 series of conferences at the main headquarters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Ashraf 3, Albania. Several dignitaries, political and human rights activists delivered speeches, issuing remarks about the struggles of the Iranian people and their resistance movement for freedom in their country.

Following are key remarks by member of Italian Parliament Antonio Tasso at the Ashraf 3 conference.

Antonio Tasso:

I come here for the second time and Ashraf 3 is even more beautiful and operative. Congratulations.

The improvement made with your effort to reach your dream is clear and visible. A dream guided by a brave woman, President Maryam Rajavi, open for Iranian people. I had the honor to meet Madame Rajavi at last year’s gathering in Paris and I have admired her charisma as a leader, as well as her ten-point plan for a free Iran.

And in each and every occasion that I joined you, I found myself improved with precious knowledge achieved and hopes defining places to look forward.

Sometimes, when I try to get an answer to difficult questions, like what kind of government can guarantee or at least try to guarantee a healthier and happy society, I start to look into history. Because if there is a remote possibility to predict the future, that prediction is based on experience of our past. And from our past I learned that most brilliant examples of humanity and virtues have a common denominator the passion of liberties.

The persistent defense against the tyranny and dictatorship. Every time the world changed, people thought there could not be someone who could alter the history. I see the resilience preceding an epical phenomenon in the bravery that the Iranian community has demonstrated fighting for human rights. And I hope in a common community, a common state not divided by color, caste, religion, or ethnicity, where humans are not subordinated to other humans, the day when a wind of liberty will delete the cruelty of totalitarianism, inevitably there will be and a new vision for the country based on the principle of democracy and laws, and civil rights will influence the new mentality.

Dear friends, in conclusion, when the last citizen with his own voice will have the possibility to claim his dignity and achieve individual happiness, our mission will finally be considered done. Thank you and (hazer, hazer, hazer [We are ready]).
