Iranians across the globe voice support for protests inside the country

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, February 4, 2020—Freedom loving Iranians and sympathizers of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) held rallies in support of ongoing protests inside Iran. These rallies were held in Ottawa, Oslo, Toronto, Gothenburg, Malmo, Copenhagen and Arhus.

In Ottawa, these freedom-loving Iranians were seen chanting, “Down with the mullahs’ regime principle – Down with oppressors, be it the shah or the leader (in a reference to Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei) – Jailed protesters must be released – Down with [regime President Hassan] Rouhani and Khamenei, Viva Democracy – Yes to Rajavi, No to Khamenei! He’s a terrorist, he must go! – Down with Khamenei, Down with Rouhani, Hail to Rajavi, Viva Freedom!”

These MEK sympathizers were expressing their support for Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and Madam Maryam Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

In Oslo, freedom-loving Iranians held a gathering and were chanting, “Down with Khamenei, Damn you Khomeini,” in a reference to Iranian regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini, the first supreme leader of the mullahs’ regime. “Hail to Resistance Units, Down with Khamenei’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) – Jailed protesters must be released – Democracy, Freedom, With Maryam Rajavi!”

Mr. Parviz Khazaee, NCRI envoy in Nordic countries, delivered a speech at this rally. “I promise you that the tide has immensely turned against the inhumane mullahs’ regime. Politically, economically, socially, culturally and especially ideologically, this regime is in a complete state of bankruptcy. You have seen that in the past few days, Rouhani, this devious figure who reached his post with vote rigging and a lack of democracy, is now claiming to be a pro-democracy figure and describes the regime’s ‘elections’ as a sham and farce.”

Iranians at the rally chanted in response, “Each Iranian is chanting down with Khamenei and Rouhani – Norway should boycott the terrorist regime ruling Iran.”

In Toronto, Iranians taking part in a similar rally were chanting, “Shah, Sultan, Velayat, your end is near!” in a reference to the mullahs’ regime reaching its final days in power. “Down with Rouhani and Khamenei, Viva Rajavi! – Yes to Rajavi, No to the mullahs! They are terrorists they must go! – We want neither a shah nor a leader, down with oppressors!” This is a reference to the Iranian people not willing to return to the pre-1979 monarchial rule and also rejecting the current mullahs’ regime in its entirety.
