Iran, April 14, 2019 – Members of Resistance Units, a network affiliated directly to the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are providing much-needed aid to flooded areas across the country. In solidarity with hundreds of thousands of people in flooded areas, these Resistance Units are also targeting icons of the mullahs’ regime, especially following the designation of the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the U.S. State Department.
In West Azerbaijan, northwest Iran, members of Resistance Unit 102 set fire to a poster near the entrance of an IRGC Basij base. They held a sign expressing their support for flood-hit areas and saying, “Death to Khamenei,” referring to the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and “Hail to Rajavi,” in reference to Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi, and Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
Members of Resistance Unit 19 in Tehran also set fire to a sign near an IRGC Basij base.
In Tehran, members of Resistance Unit 355 set fire to another IRGC Basij base. They also held a sign congratulating the Iranian people following the IRGC FTO designation and chanting, “Death to Khamenei.”
Members of Resistance Unit 913 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer-Ahmed Province set fire to a sign associated to the regime’s notorious Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
In Mashhad, northeast Iran, members of Resistance Unit 720 expressed solidarity with flood-hit areas across Iran and set fire to a sign at the entrance of an IRGC Basij base. They were heard chanting, “Death to Khamenei” and “Hail to Rajavi.”
Members of Resistance Unit 333 in Tehran set fire to a billboard associated to the IRGC Basij and held a leaflet expressing their support of flood victims. They were also heard chanting, “Death to Khamenei the dictator – Hail to Rajavi.”
In Shahr-e Rey, south of Tehran, members of Resistance Unit 560 set fire to an IRGC Basij sign.
Also in Tehran, members of Resistance Units 999 severely damaged a Khamenei billboard.
Members of Resistance Unit 550 also in Tehran set fire to a poster affiliated to the IRGC.
