Iran opposition network targeting regime symbols

Reported by PMOI/MEK

Iran, April 15, 2019 – Members of a vast network of activists in Iran, known as Resistance Units, associated to the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are heavily involved in a campaign to confront the climate of fear imposed by the mullahs’ regime by launching measures targeting the regime’s icon.

In Tehran, members of the Resistance Unit 451 set fire to a base allocated to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Basij forces. They also wrote this on a sign left at the scene, “Death to Khamenei,” referring to the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei; “Hail to Rajavi,” in reference to Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi, and Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI); and “The IRGC is reason for these floods and destruction.”

Members of the Resistance Unit 101 in Tehran expressed their support for the flood-hit areas and wrote a similar sign while setting fire to an IRGC Basij base in the country’s capital.

Also in Tehran, Resistance Unit 120 set fire to another regime-linked base.

In the city of Semnan, a city east of Tehran in northern Iran, members of the Resistance Unit 721 also set fire to an IRGC Basij base.

In the province of Khorasan Razavi in northeast Iran, members of the Resistance Unit 550 set fire to a Khamenei poster.

Back in Tehran, members of the Resistance Unit 920 set fire to a Khamenei poster placed next to one of the capital’s highways.
