Iran opposition network celebrates Soleimani’s death

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, January 7, 2020—Members of “Resistance Units” and supporters of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) across the country are celebrating the death of former Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force chief Qasem Soleimani. These brave individuals are torching icons of the mullahs’ regime, taking to graffiti and putting up signs, along with celebrations of the death of Soleimani, a man responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people in Iran, Iraq, Syria and across the Middle East.

In Tehran, Isfahan, Qom and Qaemshahr, among numerous other cities, MEK supporters were celebrating Soleimani’s death by throwing parties and handing out pastries. This further shows that despite all the regime’s propaganda inside Iran and abroad, the people of Iran despise Qasem Soleimani, the IRGC and the entire mullahs’ regime of Iran.

In the cities of Tehran, Karaj, Behbahan, Khorramabad and Zanjan, resistance units members and PMOI supporters were seen setting fire to the entrance of IRGC paramilitary Basij sites and pro-regime banners.

In Tabriz, Tehran and Isfahan, MEK supporters are showing slogans of “Death to Khamenei,” referring to regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and “Hail to Rajavi,” referring to Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

In the cities and provinces of Andimeshk, Tehran, Gilan, Babolsar, Khorramabad, Shiraz and Abadan, resistance units members and PMOI supporters took to graffiti and distributing signs reading various quotes of Iranian opposition leaders encouraging the Iranian people for more efforts against the mullahs’ regime.

It is worth noting that any support for the PMOI inside Iran is considered punishable by death by the mullahs’ judiciary. Back in June 2014, Gholamreza Khosravi, an MEK supporter, was arrested and executed merely for sending a small financial donation to a satellite TV network affiliated to the PMOI/MEK. “Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani was arrested in 2008 in Rafsanjan, Kerman Province, in connection with his alleged support of the pro-PMOI (People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran) TV station Sima-ye Azadi (Voice of Freedom),” according to Amnesty International.
