Iran: MEK Resistance Units set fire to regime icons

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, October 11, 2019—As regime authorities expand their nationwide crackdown against the Iranian people and specifically target any voice of protests and dissent, members of “Resistance Units,” supporters of the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are continuing their anti-regime campaign across the country by targeting images and icons of the Iranian regime, including the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In Tehran, members of a resistance unit set fire to the entrances of numerous Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Basij bases.

The U.S State Department has designated the IRGC as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” (FTO).

In Shiraz, south-central Iran, resistance units members set fire to a poster of Khamenei and the dead regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini. Another Khamenei poster was also set on fire by resistance units members in Khoy and Bandar Abbas, northwest and southern Iran, respectively.

In Maku, northwest Iran, resistance units members set fire to a regime-associated site along with a Khamenei poster, while another Khamenei image was set on fire in Lahijan, northern Iran.

More Khamenei images were set on fire in Urmia, northwest Iran, and another poster affiliated to the IRGC Basij was set ablaze in the city of Kermanshah, western Iran.

In Zahedan, southeast Iran, resistance units members set fire to a poster of the Iranian regime’s oppressive entities, while their colleagues in the city of Khorramabad, western Iran, set fire to the entrance of another regime site.
