As the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) marked the 58th anniversary of its founding on Wednesday, Resistance Units, the network of PMOI activists inside Iran, celebrated the event by projecting images of the organization’s leaders, founders, and emblem in different cities across Iran.
In Tehran, Resistance Units projected a large image of PMOI co-founder Mohammad Hanifnejad at the Imam Ali Highway, Shabazi Street. Also in Tehran, an image of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi was projected in Abbas Abad Highway, Gol-e Nabi Street.
In Zanjan, a large image of all three PMOI founders, including Hanifnejad, Saeid Mohsen, and Asghar Badizadegan in Keshavarz Boulevard. Also in Zanjan, a large image of the PMOI emblem was projected on Mehr Boulevard.
In Ardebil, Resistance Units projected an image of Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), at Fatemioun Square.
In Rasht, the emblem of the PMOI was projected on Mosafer Square.
Similar activities were reported in Karaj, Meshgin Shahr, Hashtgerd, Ramsar, Dehdasht, Isfahan, Shiraz, Golpaygan, Arak, Borujerd, Yazd, and Ahvaz.
Resistance Units are increasing their activities while Iran’s regime is resorting to different tactics to cause public fear and prevent protests on the anniversary of the 2022 nationwide uprising. The Resistance Units are keeping the flame of rebellion alit and countering the regime’s apparatus of repression.
They have been a driving force for the nationwide uprisings against the regime’s brutal suppression.
They are carrying out activities at great risks to their lives and safety since the regime has been especially harsh against any support for or relation to the PMOI. Regime officials have recently described the PMOI as their main problem.
The regime’s pressure campaign includes increased pressure on political prisoners who have been charged with supporting the PMOI.
At the same time, the regime is engaged in an incessant stream of fake news about the status of PMOI members abroad. And the regime’s judiciary recently issued an order to prosecute 104 MEK members. The regime, which has marked its history with the execution of tens of thousands of MEK members and supporters, has called for the Iranian Resistance members to present their lawyers to represent them in court.
The goal of the regime is to prevent the youth from joining the organized resistance movement that has been calling for regime change for more than four decades.
However, as the activities of the Resistance Units show, the regime has utterly failed in its efforts to quell the spirit of resistance in Iran.
