In response to the threats against and confiscation of property from Iran’s hardworking truckers and drivers, whose nationwide strike has now spread to 140 cities, the brave rebellious youth attacked bases of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Basij militia centers, and the centers and symbols of oppression and crime of the criminal regime.
This series of revolutionary operations took place on May 28, 2024, in various cities across the country, including Tehran, Mashhad, Hashtgerd, Khash, Saravan, Kahnuj, Goujan, Ilam, Birjand, and Hamedan, as follows:
- Three incendiary attacks at an IRGC Basij center in Tehran
• Incendiary attack on a regime building in Tehran
• Incendiary attack on an IRGC Basij base in Mashhad
• Incendiary attack on a regime building in Hashtgerd
• Incendiary attack on a Basij base used for suppressing women in Khash
• Incendiary attack on a regime building in Goujan
• Setting fire to an IRGC Basij center in Tehran
• Setting fire to an IRGC Basij center in Saravan
• Setting fire to an IRGC Basij unit in Saravan
• Setting fire to a Basij based tasked with suppressing students in Kahnuj
• Setting fire to propaganda banners with images of Ruhollah Khomeini and Ali Khamenei in Tehran, Ilam, and Birjand
• Setting fire to a Basij espionage signboard in Karaj
• Setting fire to an IRGC Basij espionage signboard in Hamedan
The message of the brave rebellious youth and their series of offensive operations against the organs of suppression, plunder, and espionage—which target the risen hardworking people—is that when the criminal mullahs’ regime responds to the rightful demands of the hardworking people with threats, arrests, and suppression, it will receive a reciprocal response by the true protectors of the oppressed people.
The courageous strike by drivers and truckers is a rightful protest against the oppression, discrimination, and injustice of the ruling mafia, which for years has subjected the hardworking and productive members of society to backbreaking pressures. By halting shipments, the protesting drivers are demanding their basic rights concerning insurance, fuel quotas, freight rates, and job security.
A truck driver from Darreh Shahr, on May 26, 2024, indignantly addressed the officials of the repressive and plundering regime, saying: “Gentlemen, come and fix it now, come and sort it out now! Haven’t you heard the driver’s cry? For how many years have we been shouting and screaming for you to help the drivers? Drivers’ insurance, social security insurance, you’ve set the retirement [requirement] at 35 years [of service]. Should a driver retire at the age of 70? Who said we live to be 70 for you to raise the retirement age so much?”
He continued, abandoning formalities and addressing Ali Khamenei, the regime’s Supreme Leader, and his officials: “What have you done to the people? You have destroyed the people of Iran, destroyed them. Of course, you are not Iranians. Someone who is not the owner of the house—which you are not—will wreck the house. But God willing, one day the people will get their hands on you, and then we will show you who we are.”
One of the striking drivers also said: “Hello, this is the Sungun copper mine. We truckers have no peace. We want neither the Shah nor the mullahs. We have no fuel, no food; we are destitute.”
According to published videos, there is no sign of truck traffic on the country’s main roads. Many drivers of Nissan pickup trucks (a common utility vehicle in Iran) have also joined this strike, and in most cities, drivers have displayed their solidarity by parading their stationary trucks in protest.
The regime’s deceitful media outlets, fearing the spread of the strike and protests to other hardworking sectors of society, attempted to curb the blazing flames of the truckers’ strike by publishing fake news claiming that the truckers’ problems had been resolved and the strike had ended. However, the heroic rebellious youth, with their fiery attacks on the regime’s bases of suppression and plunder and its symbols of tyranny, corruption, and decay, are lighting the beacons on the path to uprising and demonstrating that the cold, dark shadows of suppression can only be destroyed by fire.
