New intelligence by Iranian Resistance proves Tehran’ s nuclear weapons program ‘never stopped,’ moving at full speed

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has unveiled explosive new intelligence, exposing a dramatic and dangerous escalation in the Iranian regime’s clandestine nuclear weapons program. Sourced from the trusted network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside Iran, these latest findings reveal that the mullahs’ regime is actively developing boosted nuclear weapons and pursuing a parallel path to a hydrogen bomb, significantly heightening the threat to global peace and security. This alarming advancement, spearheaded by the notorious IRGC-controlled entity SPND, underscores the regime’s unwavering commitment to acquiring atomic weapons despite international scrutiny.

Boosted Weapons and the Hydrogen Bomb Path

The most alarming aspect of the NCRI’s new exposé is the revelation that the Iranian regime is actively “working to develop a boosted nuclear weapon,” as stated by Alireza Jafarzadeh, Deputy Director of the NCRI’s US Office. These advanced warheads are designed “to be mounted on ballistic missiles with a range of over 3000 kilometers,” dramatically increasing their destructive potential and reach.

Central to this new, dangerous endeavor is the regime’s focus on “the extraction and utilization of tritium.” Jafarzadeh warned that tritium is not only “a critical element in order to boost nuclear weapons” but critically, “it also gives the regime a parallel path to building a hydrogen bomb.”

Soona Samsami, Director of the NCRI US Office, reinforced this dire assessment: “SPND is pursuing the extraction and utilization of Tridium to enable the regime to produce hydrogen bombs.” This marks a significant qualitative leap in the regime’s nuclear ambitions, moving beyond simpler atomic devices towards far more powerful thermonuclear capabilities.

To facilitate this, since 2013, the SPND (Organization for Advanced Defense Research) has been “recruiting and transferring nuclear fusion and tritium experts from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran to SPND… very quietly, in a secret way.” This covert operation, combined with SPND’s directives to universities and experts “not to publish any research, any papers, anything related to nuclear fusion and tritium,” and even “removing any such articles,” clearly indicates the illicit and military nature of this highly sensitive work.

Unmasking the Secret Infrastructure: SPND, Eyvanaki, and Front Companies

The engine driving this new phase of nuclear weaponization is the SPND, an entity first revealed in July of 2011 by the Iranian Resistance. As Jafarzadeh explained, SPND “is actually controlled by the minister of defense, which itself is controlled by the Revolutionary Guards.” This direct IRGC control highlights the military-driven nature of the program.

A key site for these new activities is the “Eyvanaki site,” also referred to within the regime as “Rangin Kaman.” This “very large area of 2500 acres,” whose construction was supervised by the notorious Mohsen Fakhrizadeh (the assassinated “father of the nuclear weapons program of the regime”), was initiated by SPND in 2009 and completed around 2013. The site features “a significant portion of the facilities… underground” and is subject to “very unusual level of security.” It is “fenced off and monitored by cameras,” declared “prohibited for hunting,” and protected by a nearby “Qadir Long-Range Radar Site… run by the IRGC Aerospace Force” and a missile defense unit. Cover stories, such as it being a “paint making factory,” are used to deceive locals and any prying eyes.

To further obscure its operations and procure necessary materials and expertise, the regime uses a network of front companies. The parent company, “Petsar” (Pisthazan-e Tose’e San’ati Aria Razi), ostensibly involved in “oil and petrochemical industries,” was founded by IRGC Brigadier General Nasser Maleki, a UN-designated individual involved in nuclear and ballistic missile activities. One of Petsar’s key subsidiaries, “Diba Energy Sina Company,” established in June 2011 and supposedly producing “chemical solvents,” operates the heavily fortified Eyvanaki site.

A Program That “Never Stopped”

These latest, terrifying developments are not an isolated incident but part of a continuous, unwavering commitment by the Iranian regime to acquire nuclear weapons. The NCRI intelligence confirms that the program “has been moving forward rapidly all throughout this period. It was never stopped,” according to Jafarzadeh. He further elaborated that “At some points it actually was elevated. The Amad plan [the regime’s original nuclear weapons plan] was put aside in favor of a more comprehensive plan.”

This continuity demonstrates the mullahs’ profound duplicity. While posturing on the international stage, they have systematically and secretly advanced their illicit program. The newly revealed pursuit of “boosting nuclear warheads,” Jafarzadeh emphasized, “is a whole new element that shows that they want to rapidly move forward with their nuclear weapons program.” This persistent deception and escalation demand a fundamental reassessment of the threat.

Survival Through Terror and Repression

The mullahs’ relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons is not driven by energy needs or national pride, but by a desperate strategy for survival. As Soona Samsami clearly articulated, “Obtaining nuclear weapons is part of the regime’s survival strategy and has no peaceful purpose.” This is evidenced by the regime’s staggering expenditure of an estimated “$2 trillion dollars on the nuclear program” while critical sectors like the “oil and gas industry” suffer from a lack of significant investment.

This nuclear ambition is inextricably linked to the regime’s brutal repression of its own people. Facing an “explosive society” yearning for freedom, the regime uses the specter of a nuclear bomb as a shield against internal dissent and external pressure. Samsami highlighted this connection, noting, “Since Pezeshkian has assumed office as president, more than 1,200 prisoners have been executed. Dozens of political prisoners face execution. The regime is running the clock while dashing for the bomb.” The bomb, in their calculation, is the ultimate guarantor of their repressive rule.

An Urgent Call for Decisive Action

The NCRI and PMOI have a long and proven track record of exposing the Iranian regime’s nuclear deceptions, from the 2002 revelation of the Natanz enrichment site, which “triggered the IAEA inspections of Iranian nuclear sites for the first time,” to the current unmasking of SPND’s advanced weapons projects. “All of the regime’s nuclear activities were disclosed by the Resistance and then the regime was forced to acknowledge it,” Samsami reminded the international community.

Given this undeniable evidence of ongoing deception and fresh escalation towards more dangerous weapons, the NCRI’s calls for action are more urgent than ever. “We have called for many years and I want to reiterate again that all of these nuclear sites of the Iranian regime must be shut down. There’s nothing peaceful about it. There’s no way that you can live in coexistence with these sites,” Jafarzadeh asserted. He added, “The role of the IAEA from now on should be basically to monitor the shutting down of these nuclear sites.”

Soona Samsami echoed this, stating, “Our revelations once again demonstrate that the Iranian regime’s nuclear program is entirely aimed at acquiring nuclear weapons. All sites must be shut down. No enrichment capability must be allowed. IAEA must verify the closure of all sites.”

Furthermore, she stressed the imperative to act decisively on the international stage: “The UN snapback mechanism must be activated before it runs its time.” Past policies of appeasement and negotiation have demonstrably failed to curb the regime’s nuclear ambitions; they have only bought it more time to advance towards the bomb.

The Ultimate Solution: Supporting the Iranian People’s Resistance

While international pressure and sanctions are crucial, the ultimate and most durable solution to the threat posed by the Iranian regime lies with the Iranian people and their organized Resistance. Soona Samsami powerfully articulated this vision: “We have always emphasized that the solution to the Iranian regime’s nuclear threat and threat to peace and security is the organized resistance. There is no need for boots on the ground or appropriation of money. The world should acknowledge the people’s right to confront the IRGC.”

Empowering the Iranian people in their struggle for freedom and democracy is not only a moral imperative but also the most effective strategy to neutralize the threat from Tehran. A democratic Iran, free from the grip of the mullahs, will be a responsible member of the international community and a guarantor of peace and stability in the region and beyond. The world must stand firmly with the Iranian Resistance and their quest for a secular, democratic, and non-nuclear Iran.
