As Iran approaches the sixth anniversary of the heroic November 2019 uprising, a pivotal moment when the Iranian people’s cry for freedom shook the foundations of the clerical regime, the spirit of that resistance burns brighter than ever. In a powerful tribute to the more than 1,500 martyrs of that nationwide protest, and in defiance of the regime’s escalating campaign of terror, Iran’s courageous rebellious youth have launched a series of daring operations across the country, striking at the heart of the mullahs’ apparatus of suppression and corruption.
In at least 18 coordinated actions in cities from Tehran to Mahshahr, the rebellious youth sent a clear message to supreme leader Ali Khamenei: the flame of the uprising will not be extinguished. Their operations targeted symbols of the regime’s tyranny and plunder:
- Two incendiary attacks on a regime building responsible for handing out execution sentences in Mahshahr
- Setting fire to a center of fundamentalism and terrorism in Tehran
- Attacking centers of fundamentalism and terrorism in Mashhad and Rasht
- Setting fire to a center of fundamentalism, crime, and suppression of women in Urmia
- Attacking the Khomeini Relief Committee, a state-controlled institution involved in plundering public wealth, in Kabudarahang, Hamedan province
- Attacking two IRGC Basij bases used for suppressing students in Mashhad
- Setting fire to an IRGC Basij center used for suppressing female students in Dezful
- Setting fire to IRGC Basij bases in Mashhad, Qazvin, Shahr-e Rey, and Jiroft
- Setting fire to banners of supreme leader Ali Khamenei in Kermanshah and Qazvin
- Setting fire to a banner of terror master Qasem Soleimani in Rasht
- Setting fire to a banner of regime leaders in Neyshabur
- Setting fire to a symbol of terror master Qasem Soleimani in Qaleh Ganj, Kerman province
- Setting fire to the signboard for the espionage headquarters of the Ministry of Intelligence in Tehran
- Setting fire to the signboard for the IRGC Basij intelligence and espionage unit in Tehran
- Setting fire to a banner of IRGC Brigadier General Hossein Hamedani, a key figure in the regime’s suppression, in Hamedan
These defiant acts commemorate the November 2019 uprising, which was sparked by a sudden hike in gasoline prices but rapidly evolved into a nationwide movement demanding an end to the dictatorship. Protests spread to over 190 cities, where chants of “Death to Khamenei” replaced economic grievances. Faced with an existential threat, Khamenei issued a direct order to “do whatever it takes to end it,” unleashing a massacre. The IRGC and security forces gunned down at least 1,500 protesters in the streets, including in the city of Mahshahr, where they used heavy machine guns on demonstrators who had taken refuge in marshlands.
Six years later, the clerical regime, deeply fearful of another popular explosion, has resorted to a relentless campaign of terror to stifle dissent. In October 2025 alone, the regime executed at least 285 prisoners, an unprecedented record of brutality in recent decades. The total number of executions for the first ten months of the year has reached nearly 1,500. This wave of executions is a desperate attempt by a cornered regime to create an atmosphere of fear and prevent the simmering public anger from boiling over, especially on the anniversary of a major uprising.
But the regime’s calculations are failing. The recent wave of operations by the rebellious youth across Iran sends an unequivocal message: the spirit of resistance ignited in November 2019 is not only alive but is being nurtured by a new generation of freedom fighters. By targeting the very centers of repression, plundering, and espionage, they are honoring the memory of the martyrs and demonstrating that the regime’s campaign of executions has failed to break the will of the people.
These acts of defiance prove that despite the mullahs’ machinery of execution and suppression, the flames of uprising cannot be extinguished. The rebellious youth are lighting the path forward, showing the world that the martyrs of November 2019 did not die in vain. They have vowed to not relent in their fight until they overthrow this criminal regime and establish a free and democratic republic in Iran.
