Iranian regime’s responses to diplomats expulsion

Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Dec. 21, 2018 – Following the expulsion of two Iranian diplomats, including Tehran’s ambassador himself, from Albania, the Iranian foreign ministry and the main state-run media outlets have attempted to cloak the fiasco by accusing everyone except the culprits themselves.

Bahram Qassemi, spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, described the expulsion of two Iranian diplomats by the Albanian government unacceptable and said: “This act has been carried out under the American government’s and the Zionist regime’s intelligence services’ pressure, with the help of some anti Iranian [regime] terrorist groups. It has been scripted based on wrong and imaginary expressions and its goal is to impact and damage Iran’s relations with Europe.”

“This behavior by the Albanian government, which has no logical excuse or foundation, is based on fabricated and wrong intelligence by some security services. We condemn it and consider it unacceptable. It’s unfortunate, that this time, the anti-Iranian [regime] scriptwriters have made Albania, which always had good relations with Iran, the victim of their malicious plans,” the spokesman continued.

The hallucinating spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry added: “We consider this coerced and unsavvy action against this country [Albania] as a continuation of the same policy of damaging and disrupting of Iran’s foreign relations. The hasty statements and expressions of joy by some American officials—especially its foreign minister—for this action are proof for these fruitless attempts by unprofessional individuals who were paid by terrorist groups in recent years.”

Iranian state-run television quoted U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo saying, “I admire the Albanian government’s decision and the world must be united in sanctioning the Iranian regime.”

“But the Albanian government expelled two Iranian diplomats for alleged illegal activities. The Albanian Foreign Ministry reported the news and claimed that the Iranian diplomats had activities that endangered the security of this country. According to [the Albanian Foreign Ministry] spokesperson, Albania has made this decision after consulting some countries, including the Zionist regime,” the Iranian television report added.

The report continued, “Albania is a small country in southeast Europe, which after taking in the members of a terrorist organization, has become a station against the Islamic republic. Albania has made this decision in line with the [PMOI/MEK’s] desires.”

Fars news agency, close to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) wrote: “A few hours after the news broke out over the expulsion of two Iranian diplomats from Albania, American officials expressed their appreciation for the Albanian government’s measure.”

“Wednesday night, the spokesperson for the Albanian Foreign Ministry announced that two Iranian diplomats have been expelled from the country. This official, whose country hosts PMOI/MEK’s station, claimed, without presenting any proofs, that the two diplomats were involved in activities that endangered Albania’s security,” Fars continued.

“U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and White House National Security Advisor John Bolton praised Albania’s action in separate messages.”

“Albania, a small European country, carried out this decision after it took in the PMOI/MEK when they left Iraq,” the Fars news agency report concludes.

Adding insult to injury for the mullahs, U.S. President Donald Trump sent a letter of appreciation to the Albanian Prime Minister.

Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, reported: “On Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump praised the Albanian government’s decision to expel two Iranian diplomats. According to the AP from Tirana, in a letter to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Trump thanked him and wrote: Thank you for your steadfast efforts to stand up to Iran and to counter its destabilizing activities and efforts to silence dissidents around the globe.”

IRNA in a sheer lie claimed that “Albania has given refuge to PMOI/MEK members in a station belonging to the U.S.”
