Iran coronavirus update: Over 480,600 deaths, more provinces reporting rising numbers

Over 480,600 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Wednesday afternoon local time, November 24. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 129,280, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 112,645 in Tehran, 32,925 in Isfahan, 29,225 in Khuzestan, 17,988 in West Azerbaijan, 17,885 in Fars, 16,720 in Gilan, 12,877 in Kerman, 8938 in Hamedan, 7903 in Yazd, and 4166 in South Khorasan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Wednesday as 95 deaths and 4813 new cases. Furthermore, 3375 patients are in ICUs and 724 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The cities of Oshnaviyeh and Piranshahr remain registered as red zone cities and coronavirus continues to spread fast in Piranshahr. During the past 24 hours 116 coronavirus patients were hospitalized and the total number of hospitalized patients stands at 694, of which 178 are in ICUs and 44 under ventilators,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“The coronavirus situation in some cities, including Haji-abad, has witnessed an increasing wave. The three cities of Bandar Abbas, Bastak, and Abu Mousa are currently registered yellow. Considering the rising number of positive cases in Haji-abad, the situation in this region will most likely result in the city being registered as a yellow zone in the coming days,” said the spokesperson of Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“During the past week the number of people being hospitalized as stabilized, and the death toll has shown a significant increase. The number of people being hospitalized has escalated above the national average and the death toll in [Ardabil] province has also surpassed the national average following last week’s rise,” according to a Wednesday report wired by IRNA, the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“106 patients are being held in ICUs and the total number of patients hospitalized currently stands at 375. During the past 24 hours 80 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“This week the number of people being hospitalized remained higher than the national average and the death toll in [Ilam] province equals the national average,” according to a Tuesday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“We currently have 1192 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 164 are in ICUs,” according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University regarding Fars province.
