“More than 140 of our physicians and more than 250 members of the medical society have lost their lives in the fight against coronavirus. Of course, unofficial, and unregistered numbers are most likely higher. When we compare this to the 1980s Iran-Iraq war era, we realize that, at least among the physicians, we have suffered three times the casualties,” said the head of Iran’s Medical Apparatus Organization on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Yesterday’s 180 degree change in the number of new daily cases showed we have yet to overcome this threat and concerns of the pandemic intensifying always exist. At a time when stats have yet to lower to the single digits and vaccination coverage has yet to reach the minimum 85 percent, this can be problematic and the trend of confronting this virus can enter a concerning phase. Once again we may witness the dark days we saw during the summer season,” according to a piece wired on Tuesday by the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“83 patients with coronavirus symptoms have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours, while 13 patients were released in this same period,” said the spokesperson of the Kermanshah Covid-19 Task Force on Monday, according to the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency.

“The spread of two illnesses in parallel and the launch of a new crisis are concerning and can result in many people being engaged,” said the caretaker dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours, 330 new coronavirus cases were registered. Of the 756 patients hospitalized, we have 195 in ICUs and 43 under ventilators,” according to a statement released by the West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Monday.

“We currently have 374 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 108 are in ICUs. Furthermore, 156 new coronavirus cases were registered,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).
