“Most certainly we don’t have adequate conditions to fully re-open schools and universities. Considering our current circumstances, we have to focus all our efforts on accelerating the pace of vaccinating the society,” said a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Friday, according to the state-run Khabar Online website.

“The rate of coronavirus numbers decreasing has slowed. This trend has stopped and even increased in the country’s eastern areas. This is an alarm bell of the sixth wave,” said the secretary of the regime’s Epidemiology Committee on Friday, according to state-TV.

16,493 patients have died of coronavirus in Isfahan province, aside from the cities of Kashan and Aran & Bidgol, according to a report issued on Friday by the semi-official ISNA news agency. If this ratio is addressed to the entire population across Iran, the number of coronavirus victims totals to over 300,000, meaning twice the Health Ministry’s official stats. It is also worth noting that medical care in most provinces is poorer than Isfahan.

“The daily coronavirus fatality rate remains in the double digits. There are currently 1135 patients hospitalized, of which 264 are in ICUs,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“The number of new cases is on the rise and with the continuation of this trend the number of people being hospitalized will increase,” according to a statement released on Friday by the South Khorasan Covid-19 Task Force.

“260 coronavirus patients are hospitalized and 60 are in dire conditions,” said the dean of Qom Medical Sciences University on Friday.

“91 coronavirus patients are in dire conditions and placed in ICUs. We currently have 419 patients hospitalized,” said the deputy dean of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency.
