Iran coronavirus update: Over 466,000 deaths, more provinces reporting rising stats

Iran, October 28, 2021—Over 466,000 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Thursday afternoon local time, October 28. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 125,875 around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 109,175 in Tehran, 38,110 in Razavi Khorasan, 31,725 in Isfahan, 17,233 in Razavi Khorasan, 17,130 in Mazandaran, 17,045 in Fars, 16,260 in Gilan, 16,198 in East Azerbaijan ,13,748 in Alborz, 8564 in Kermanshah, 8513 in Markazi (Central), 7492 in Kurdistan, 5933 in North Khorasan, 4438 in Ilam, 4016 in South Khorasan, and 3394 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Thursday as 159 deaths and 11,409 new cases. Furthermore, 4078 patients are in ICUs and 1477 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The number of patients hospitalized stands at 3242, of which 1290 are in ICUs. Those seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms in the past 24 hours reached more 10,900 cases. Considering the complex conditions in Tehran all of the city’s stats are deemed fragile,” said Alireza Zali, head of the Tehran Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“The provinces of Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad, Zanjan, Kerman, Khuzestan, Fars, Mazandaran, Alborz, Markazi, East Azerbaijan, Gilan, and Lorestan are among the provinces that during the past few days reported an increasing number of new cases, deaths, patients being hospitalized, number of blue cities (low threat) decreasing, daily death toll being in double digits, increasing number of people seeking initial medical care for Covid-19 symptoms, an increasing number of red zones, the number of new cases per day being in triple digits, increasing number of cities considered as red zones (high threat),” according to a piece published on Thursday by the state-run E’temad daily.

“During the past 24 hours 179 new patients have been hospitalized and 16 patients lost their lives to coronavirus. There are currently 1009 patients hospitalized,” according to a statement released on Thursday by the East Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University.

“During the past two weeks we have seen an average of 400 to 450 people per day being hospitalized for Covid-19 and deteriorating physical conditions,” said the deputy dean of Mazandaran Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the regime's official IRNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 185 new patients have been hospitalized while 158 were discharged. Currently we have 688 patients hospitalized, of which 150 are in ICUs and 31 are under ventilators. Furthermore, there are currently 16 minors hospitalized after contracting Covid-19,” according to a statement released on Thursday by the Kermanshah Medical Sciences University.

“Currently there are 200 patients hospitalized per day in Razavi Khorasan province. If the trend of an increasing number of patients continues as they are now, in the next ten days the city of Mashhad will be registered as an orange zone,” according to a statement released on Thursday by the Razavi Khorasan Medical Sciences University.

“During the past 24 hours 269 new patients were hospitalized and 23 lost their lives. There are currently 1512 patients hospitalized, of which 260 are in ICUs,” according to a joint statement released on Thursday by the Isfahan and Kashan Medical Sciences universities.
