“Sinopharm has not been globally approved for people under the age of 18. Vaccinating people under the age of 18 with the Sinopharm vaccine needs approval from the World Health Organization. Vaccination for people under the age of 18 with Sinopharm is only being caried out in China and the UAE, and Iran should have obtained clinical data with credible evidence regarding the impact of Sinopharm on this age group or waited for its results from China and the UAE,” said a senior official of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the state-run Fararu website.

“No one in Qom has been cleared of the coronavirus threat. One of the main issues facing health experts in Qom is the severe hikes and decreases in the numbers of Covid-19 deaths. It is not clear why the death rate in Qom is not decreasing despite the ongoing vaccination process and the decreasing peak. Yesterday we lost 12 people and today this number reached 16,” said the dean of Qom Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 321 new patients have been hospitalized across [Fars] province. Not only are the numbers of people hospitalized and those entering hospitalized each day remain high, the number of patients in ICUs is also a high figure. The result of 40 percent of the tests conducting in coronavirus clinics are positive. This in itself is a serious alarm bell for the people of Fars province,” said the dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime's Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Currently we have 2514 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 421 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 26 people have lost their lives,” said the deans of Isfahan and Kashan Medical Sciences universities on Tuesday, according to the state-run IMNA news agency.

382 new coronavirus patients were identified in the past 24 hours in Kurdistan province, according to the dean of Kurdistan Medical Sciences University. “Currently we have 927 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 79 are in ICUs,” this official said on Tuesday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“The sixth peak is on its way, and they are predicting it will be upon us by in November. This new trap is the spread of the lambda variant which has been seen in neighboring countries and experts have been issuing warning in this regard for some time now. Right now, more than in previous days and weeks, the threat of another rise in coronavirus and the sixth peak is being discussed due to new variants entering the country. If we are not able to escalate our vaccination numbers to 60 percent, we must be worried about the sixth peak,” reads a Tuesday piece published by the state-run Resalat daily.
