“The truth is that to this day 54,000 of our compatriots have died of coronavirus and these stats should be calculated as double this number because some of those who died were not tested or died in their homes,” said a member of the regime’s National Covid-19 Task Force on Friday. “One in every one thousand people in our country have died of Covid-19 during the past ten months,” he added, according to state TV and the Mehr News Agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Fifteen people of Mazandaran province died of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours. Currently we have 1104 coronavirus patients hospitalized across the province, of which 200 are under ventilators,” said the dean of Mazandaran & Babol Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Javan daily, an outlet linked to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“During the past month, the spread of coronavirus in Mazandaran has been increasing despite quarantine restrictions. One month into these measures the number of people hospitalized for coronavirus have increased by 36 percent,” according to a Thursday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“New Covid-19 waves will be coming our way. Considering the winter season beginning the threat of the UK coronavirus strain and the reopening of stores and shopping centers, and downtown areas becoming more crowded with increasing commuting, we will definitely witness a new Covid-19 wave take shape. Of the 36 cities there are 33 that are considered in a yellow state while three are in orange status,” said the deputy governor of Fars province on Friday, according to IRNA.

“Currently we have 159 patients in ICU and 2966 have lost their lives to this day,” said the deputy chair of the Shiraz Medical Sciences University’s public relations office on Friday, according to the state controlled IRIB news agency.

“During the third wave we had 900 people hospitalized each day across [Alborz] province. On the other hand we had a daily death rate of 35 coronavirus fatalities per day. The total number of people who died during the third wave were twice that of the two previous waves combined,” according to a Friday report wired by IRNA.
