“The city of Pishva with a population of around 150,000 lacks any hospital beds and this has left the locals suffering. During the coronavirus pandemic this suffering has increased even further,” said the governor of this city in Tehran province on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Our stock of Astra Zeneca vaccine, donated by other countries, has depleted. Therefore, in the coming days we are not providing any promises to the citizens here regarding its procurement,” said a senior expert in Tabriz Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“In many provinces, authorities have confirmed the spread of omicron”

In the coming weeks there is no doubt that we will witness the peak of omicron,” said the director of the West Azerbaijan Covid-19 Task Force on Thursday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“Two cases of omicron have been identified in the city of Saveh. The number of cases indicates omicron has spread across the country and most definitely the members of those confirmed positive have also contracted the variant,” said the caretaker dean of Saveh Medical Sciences University in Markazi (Central) province on Thursday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Omicron has reached Kurdistan province and the first case has been identified and confirmed by the Pasteur Institute. The threat of this variant spread is quite serious and important,” according to a statement released on Thursday by the Kurdistan Medical Sciences University.

“Currently we have 508 coronavirus patients across [Hormozgan] province, of which 449 are quarantined in their homes,” said the spokesperson of Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Thursday, according to the regime’s official IRNA news agency.
