Following weeks of hesitation, delay, and criminally deceptive measures, the mullahs’ regime officially acknowledged the entrance of omicron into Iran. “In an emergency session held by the Health Ministry’s National Covid-19 Task Force with Health Minister Dr. Bahram Einollahi present, the entrance of the omicron variant into Iran was confirmed,” said the caretaker of the Health Ministry’s Public Relations Office on Sunday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“We knew that omicron entering the country was unavertable. In the coming two to three weeks, at most, the country’s provinces will be engaged with omicron,” said Masoud Mardani, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday, according to the Daneshju (Student) news agency.

“In two to three weeks’ time, we may find ourselves engaged with new wave with omicron. If we detect one case today, in 17 days the entire country will be engaged with omicron. The country’s blue status map will immediately turn to red status. The issue of schools is extremely serious. If we wish to take action to confront omicron, now is the time,” said Payam Tabarasi, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“Conditions regarding the spread of coronavirus may become more difficult across the country. Schools may need to be held in remote fashion for three weeks,” said Majid Mokhtari, a member of the National Covid-19 Task Force on Sunday, according to the IRGC-affiliated Fars news agency.

“During the past week, the number of [daily] deaths have increased significantly. The number of people being hospitalized per day meets the national average while the daily death toll has surpassed the national average,” according to a Sunday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency regarding Tehran province by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“The number of people being hospitalized has been the highest in comparison to the national average and the provincial daily death toll has gone above the national average,” according to a Sunday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency regarding South Khorasan province.
