Iran coronavirus update: Over 488,100 deaths, more students contracting Covid-19

Over 488,100 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Monday afternoon local time, December 12. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 130,764, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 114,310 in Tehran, 33,565 in Isfahan, 29,585 in Khuzestan, 16,828 in East Azerbaijan, 13,520 in Sistan & Baluchistan, 13,200 in Qom, 10,645 in Golestan, 8100 in Hormozgan, 8043 in Yazd, and 3669 in Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Monday as 42 deaths and 2706 new cases. Furthermore, 3069 patients are in ICUs and 442 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“From late September to this day more 1530 students in [Razazi Khorasan] province have tested positive. 860 PCR tests have been positive, and the remaining have shown positive results in quick tests,” according to a report issued Monday by the Mashhad Medical Sciences University.

“During the past 50 days 200 students have contracted coronavirus,” said the spokesperson of Kashan Medical Sciences University in Isfahan province on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“Through the course of 25 days 48 students have tested positive for coronavirus,” said the deputy dean of Qom Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the state-run Doniyay-e Eghtesad outlet.

“We currently have 500 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 135 are in ICUs and 33 are under ventilators,” said the caretaker dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“With 84 new patients hospitalized in the past 24 hours, we currently have 736 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 91 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Monday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University regarding Fars province.

In Yazd province the Covid-19 threat remains high and there are currently 241 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 72 are in ICUs, according to a Monday report wired by the regime’s official IRIB news agency.
