“In November 2019 each day we had 7200 calls. However, following the coronavirus outbreak and even in July of this year we had 20,000 calls per day. These calls have nearly tripled in numbers and emergency missions have increased proportionately. During the peak of the coronavirus period the number of calls increased by around 600 percent,” said the head of Tehran’s Emergency Center on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“In previous years nurses in Tehran were leaving the country at a rate of five per month. During the coronavirus period this figure in Tehran has reached 500 per month. The number of requests has increased significantly. We do not know the numbers leaving the country, but my estimate is that during the first 12 coronavirus months around 5000 to 8000 nurses left the country. While around 10 billion rials (around $33,000) is spent to train each nurses, since we cannot or do not wish to hire them, we lose them and literally hand them over to other countries,” said the head of the Nursing Apparatus Board of Directors on Tuesday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 180 people have contracted coronavirus and 120 have been hospitalized, of which 95 are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“During the past 24 hours 114 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized across Fars province and 118 patients are currently held in ICUs,” according to a statement released Tuesday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University.

During the past 24 hours 216 people have contracted coronavirus in West Azerbaijan province, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the local Medical Sciences University. There are currently 517 patients hospitalized in this province, of which 135 are in ICUs and 30 are under ventilators, the statement adds.
