Iran coronavirus update: Over 484,400 deaths, warnings continue about school re-openings

Over 484,400 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Friday afternoon local time, December 3. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 130,066, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 113,455 in Tehran, 39,370 in Razavi Khorasan, 33,250 in Isfahan, 18,218 in Wets Azerbaijan, 18,100 in Fars, 16,845 in Gilan, 16,065 in Lorestan, 12,997 in Kerman, 9024 in Kermanshah, 9008 in Hamedan, 7978 in Yazd, and 7937 in Kurdistan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Friday as 78 deaths and 3603 new cases. Furthermore, 3296 patients are in ICUs and 649 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The semi-reopening of schools in Tehran province continues as concerns increase over coronavirus. As we speak a considerable number of schools lack the necessary readiness to reopen and, principally, the essential infrastructure is missing to reopen schools in many areas and schools. Many parents are still not briefed about how their children will be attending schools and there are a few number of schools that have actually issued firm calls to their students to be present in their classes,” according to a report wired on Friday by the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence & Security (MOIS).

“Seven classes were cancelled after 48 students tested positive. Unfortunately, we have yet to reach the desired objective on the three issues of using masks, adequate ventilation, and social distancing,” said the head of the Qom Hygiene Center on Friday, according to the state-run Aria media outlet.

“The cities of Boyer Ahmad and Kohgiluyeh rank atop our list of the number of Covid-19 cases in this province,” said the dean of Yasuj Medical Sciences University regarding Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmad province on Friday, according to the Fars news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

“During the past 24 hours we have had 378 new coronavirus cases in [West Azerbaijan] province and 144 are currently in ICUs, of which 28 are under ventilators,” said the dean of West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the IRGC Quds Force-linked Tasnim news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 142 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized. There are currently 1008 patients hospitalized, of which 136 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released on Friday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University regarding Fars province.

“During the past 24 hours 98 people have contracted coronavirus. Of the 341 patients hospitalized 98 are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency.
