Iran coronavirus update: Over 482,700 deaths, new surge in Covid stats is alarming experts

Over 482,700 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Monday afternoon local time, November 29. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 129,711, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 113,095 in Tehran, 33,115 in Isfahan, 18,123 in West Azerbaijan, 17,970 in Fars, 17,605 in Mazandaran, 16,663 in East Azerbaijan, 16,000 in Lorestan, 13,090 in Qom, 10,550 in Golestan, 4598 in Ilam, and 4565 in Zanjan. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Monday as 82 deaths and 4310 new cases. Furthermore, 3338 patients are in ICUs and 645 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“Coronavirus is once again reviving”

The latest numbers show a 24.17 percent increase. The number of new patients hospitalized in medical centers has risen by 11.32 percent,” said Mohammad Mehdi Guya, head of the Health Ministry’s Center for Infectious Diseases said on Monday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

“During the past 24 hours 294 people in [West Azerbaijan] province have contracted coronavirus. Currently there are 661 patients hospitalized, of which 164 are in ICUs and 37 are under ventilators,” according to a statement released by the West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Monday.

“During the past 24 hours 172 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized and only 114 were discharged,” according to a statement released on Monday by the Isfahan Medical Sciences University.

“During the past 24 hours 116 new patients have contracted Covid-19. There are currently 362 patients hospitalized, of which 92 are in ICUs,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

In Ardabil province the coronavirus death toll has tripled and there are currently 177 patients hospitalized, of which 44 are in ICUs, according to a Monday report wired by the regime’s official IRNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 155 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized and there are currently 147 in ICUs,” according to a statement released Monday by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University in Fars province.
