Iran coronavirus update: Over 476,300 deaths, more cities being registered as “red zones”

Over 476,300 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Monday afternoon local time, November 15. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 128,272, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 111,715 in Tehran, 38,885 in Razavi Khorasan, 32,555 in Isfahan, 17,580 in Fars, 16,488 in East Azerbaijan, 15,785 in Lorestan, 14,028 in Alborz, 12,722 in Kerman, 10,465 in Golestan, 8849 in Kermanshah, 7833 in Yazd, 7727 in Kurdistan, and 3650 in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Monday as 105 deaths and 7494 new cases. Furthermore, 3491 patients are in ICUs and 1060 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in [Qazvin] province has doubled, and the number of dire coronavirus patients has increased by 20 percent in comparison to yesterday,” said the deputy dean of Qazvin Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the Tasnim news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Quds Force.

In Kerman province, the number of coronavirus patients have significantly increased, sounding the alarm bell of the sixth Covid-19 wave beginning in the country’s largest province. The cities in this province are going from blue and yellow zones to orange and red zones, according to a report wired by the Tasnim news agency on Monday.

“The coronavirus situation is fragile and the numbers of new cases in some parts of [Razavi Khorasan] province are increasing. If this status quo continues it will lead to some currently orange zone cities, such as Ghouchan and Khaf, to be registered as red zones,” according to a statement issued by the Coronavirus Management in this province on Monday.

“During the past 24 hours 151 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized. We currently have 1429 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 177 are in ICUs,” according to a statement issued by the Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Monday.

“The cities of Mehriz and Khatam are now registered as red coronavirus zones. We currently have 433 coronavirus patients hospitalized, of which 89 are in ICUs. During the past 24 hours 86 new such patients were hospitalized,” said the spokesperson of Yazd Medical Sciences University on Monday, according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 347 people contracted coronavirus. We currently have 901 patients in Isfahan, of which 191 are in ICUs,” according to a statement released by the Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Monday.
