Iran coronavirus update: Over 474,800 deaths, number of new patients causing concerns

Iran, November 12, 2021—Over 474,800 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 547 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces, according to reports tallied by the Iranian opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) as of Friday afternoon local time, November 12. The official death toll declared by the regime stands at 127,918, around a fourth of the actual figure.

The coronavirus death toll in various provinces include: 111,415 in Tehran, 38,775 in Razavi Khorasan, 32,420 in Isfahan, 28,980 in Khuzestan, 17,658 in West Azerbaijan, 17,370 in Mazandaran, 16,530 in Gilan, 12,672 in Kerman, 10,435 in Golestan, 8809 in Kermanshah, 7808 in Yazd, 5940 in Ardabil, and 4323 in Ilam. This is in addition to reports obtained from other provinces.

The regime’s Health Ministry announced the mullahs’ engineered Covid-19 numbers from the past 24 hours on Friday as 109 deaths and 7322 new cases. Furthermore, 3546 patients are in ICUs and 1158 of the new cases have been hospitalized.

“The number of patients hospitalized, and especially deaths due to Covid-19, have increased during the past week. If this trend continues, we will be registered as a red zone. The emergency and coronavirus branches of all our hospitals are reaching their capacity,” said the dean of Ardabil Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency, an outlet linked to the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

“The number of coronavirus patients in Kurdistan remains in the three digits. It has been a few weeks that several Kurdistan residents are losing their lives each day due to Covid-19. The ratio of those losing their lives to the province’s population is increasing with each passing day,” said the dean of Kurdistan Medical Sciences University on Friday, according to the Mehr news agency.

“The Covid-19 situation in [West Azerbaijan] is fragile. During the past 24 hours 16 people lost their lives to coronavirus and 183 such patients have been hospitalized. We currently have 977 patients hospitalized, of which 209 are in ICUs and 48 are under ventilators,” according to a statement released by the West Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University on Friday.

“During the past 24 hours 195 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized. We currently have 1608 patients hospitalized, of which 191 are in ICUs,” said the deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University regarding Fars province on Friday, according to the regime’s official IRIB news agency.

“During the past 24 hours 170 coronavirus patients have been hospitalized, while 145 were discharged,” according to a statement released by the Isfahan Medical Sciences University on Friday.
