Is Iran on the brink of another revolution?

Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Iran, Aug.10, 2018 – The mullahs’ regime in Iran is taking repressive measures against protesters across the country, parallel to crippling economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. government. This puts Tehran in a very dire situation and experts believe the regime is facing a new Iranian revolution.

Scenes of Iranians chanting “Death to the dictator” are seen once again on social media, especially as a new round of protests spark across the country in the month of August with people voicing their abhorrence of the mullahs’ regime and the sluggish economy.

PMOI/MEK sources inside the country are reporting how, a young man was shot dead last Friday night by the regime’s repressive forces in the city of Karaj, located outside of capital Tehran. Large numbers of protesters were also arrested.

On Sunday, brave protesters clashed with regime units across Karaj while chanting: “High prices and inflation, the misery of the people.

“Death to high prices. Do not be afraid. Do not be afraid. We are all together. Honorable Iranians, support, support.”

They were also seen shouting: “Death or Freedom.”

US President Donald Trump has re-imposed economic sanctions on the Iranian regime, measures lifted by the highly flawed nuclear deal signed by Barack Obama.

As we speak, disgruntled Iranians see protesting and launching a new revolution as the sole solution for their current situation.

Despite the pervasive crackdown, daily arrests and executions to create a climate of fear, the continuation and the frequency of protests throughout 2018 vividly reflect a significant reality.

Iranians are realizing more than ever before that regime change by the people is the only solution. Alongside PMOI/MEK resistance units inside the country, this powder keg nation is determined to bring an end to the mullahs’ regime.

The status quo shows the Iranian regime at the edge of a cliff and regime change being tangible more than ever before.

It is high time that the international community stands alongside the Iranian people in their quest for freedom and democracy.

Protests have spread to Isfahan, in central Iran, Mashhad, in the northeast of the country, the southern city of Shiraz and beyond.

A senior Trump official has told Fox News the re-installed sanctions are blueprinted to constrict cash the Iranian regime uses to fund “terrorists, dictators, proxy militias, and the regime’s own cronies.”

The re-imposed sanctions target US dollar financial transactions, Iran's automotive sector, and the purchase of commercial planes and metals, including gold.

Even stronger sanctions are scheduled to return in November, targeting Iran's oil sector and central bank.

U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton told Fox News recently: "… we definitely want to put maximum pressure on the government, and it's not just to come back to discuss fixing a deal that's basically not fixable.

"We want to see a much broader retreat by Iran from their support for international terrorism, their belligerent activity in the Middle East and their ballistic missile, nuclear-related program."
