Jens Christian Lund, a Danish officer and a genuine and honorable member of the parliament for Social Democrats, was a kind and sincere friend of the Iranian Resistance and Ashrafies during their most difficult times. He carried very high human values and never stopped defending the Iranian Resistance and Ashraf residents. The Iranian opposition on October 7th, 2017 lost one of its dearest friends and supporters.
In a message of condolence to his family and the people of Denmark, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the Iranian opposition said:
"My heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family and friends of Jens Christian Lund, Member of the Parliament of Denmark (2005-2011), and the great friend and supporter of the Iranian Resistance. This is a great loss to members of the Iranian Resistance who enjoyed the valuable support of this great man during their steadfast perseverance in camps Ashraf and Liberty.
"He never refrained from supporting the Iranian Resistance even in the final days of his life when he was seriously ill. He used to say that he would stand by this Resistance to his last breath. His conviction was that the people of Iran will be free.
"Jens Christian Lund lent his support to the PMOI members in Ashraf when they were under siege. He always spoke out against the unjust terrorist designation of the PMOI, and he took part in the gatherings and meetings of the Iranian Resistance, showing his dedication to freedom, democracy and human rights.
Iran’s history will forever remember Jens Christian Lund and he will stay in the hearts and minds of the Iranian people. His name will stand next to other distinguished personalities from around the world who lent their support to the Iranian Resistance."
